Zoryn was mortified more than anything else. How was she supposed to show up and face her Abra’s team without feeling like an utter failure? Being on the other side of try outs felt like a total demotion. Of course her parents would probably murder her if they found out she was here and that did give her a slight sense of satisfaction, knowing that she was defying them. But it still felt wrong. She hated it.
In true Zoryn Spinnet fashion, however, the girl showed NO signs of the true emotions that were running through her head. Instead, the Gryffindor managed to show up looking as thrilled as ever. Quidditch, BOOOYA! Right? Right.
She slipped into the group right next to Beau just as stretches began and gave him a nudge. “Nice underwear,” she snickered as she pulled it’s waistband to give it a light SNAP! She gave the rest of them smiles too, of course and Abey got a thumbs up, he was doing great. It was supposed to be her job. But he was doing good.
He was a nervous kid, y’know? But got the words out alright and Zor was following along with his instructions (there were a lot of those). She wanted the beater position, obviously. But first laps. Standard procedure. Zoryn hated them, but respected ‘em all at the same time. You sorta had to. Mounting her the broom, the Gryffindor kicked off and— she was wobbly.
Of course she had forgotten that an unfamiliar broom would take some getting used to, which meant she ought to take it much slower than she typically would. It was frustrating having to use a old, unkempt school broom when you were so used to QUALITY. Lacking any ounce of patience and determined still, the fifth year started off with a great deal of speed, racing through her laps and avoiding bludgers along the way.
All the while, she felt like she was grappling with a beast. This broom was not made for any real Quidditch player. She was trying hard to keep the frustration from showing on her face. C’mon Spinnet, you got this.
