Alone you didn't have to worry about being wanted, or being disposable. You didn't have to worry about being confined to the background because it was just you.
Alone was better.
Dead things? Quinn's eyes snapped back up to Jessa, narrowing as they regarded her for a moment. No, she had mentioned the Whomping Willow, so they started dead before Jessa got them. Quinn relaxed a little. Still, the prefect was being evasive as ever about what the experiment was, which only piqued Quinn's interest all the more. She didn't press though, that would be useless anyway. No, Quinn would return to her normal method of learning what the people around her were up to, staying quiet, and watching from the background of things. And she was determined to find out now.
For now, though, she listened with interest at the description of the Room of Requirement, her mind turning the information over constantly, examining it from every possible angle it could. It sounded ideal, a sanctuary from the house and school and people. "Is that it, though? You simply walk the corridors and towers thinking about a room you want, and hope you cross its path? Or is there a trick to finding it with more accuracy?" She was, in fact, planning to search for it that evening after dinner. "There's no trick of accuracy." To get that clear from the start. "Though the better you concentrate the more accurate the room will be to the one you desire." Jessa herself didn't typically require lavish rooms, but on the odd occasion there was need for something specific and she adjusted her mind accordingly. "Just walk, concentrate and you shouldn't have too many problems. I wouldn't go thinking TOO much about it though, no need for that pressure." Didn't help anything and wasn't necessary.
Yes, the Room of Requirement had come in handy on the odd occasion. She didn't need it nearly as often as most others did but it served its purpose well enough when she did. "Start out simple maybe, then work your way up to the more lavish settings. Get your mind used to finding it." A little practice never hurt. "There's also a to of secret passages and abandoned classrooms you might stumble on. I'd tell you where they are but that'd defeat the purpose of exploration and I wouldn't go robbing you of that." The castle was large and almost maze like at times. Taking a walk around every now and then to get a better working knowledge base for it was just common sense and those who already knew where everything was were less inclined to go learning.
