Quinnlin turned and smiled when she heard her friend's voice. "You're always late. I'm come to expect it." This was of course her way of saying Beth shouldn't worry about it. She watched calmly as Beth nearly tripped herself several times getting out of her robes, which once again caused the ironic fact that Beth would get things done faster if she just went slower.
And floral? Quinn should have known. "It's lovely. Suits you." She hadn't gone with Beth on that particular shopping trip, so this was her first time seeing the bathing suit that Beth had been so enamored with. Of course it was floral.
Quinn's own bathing suit was a simple white one-piece styled on the old bathing costumes from well over a hundred years ago.
And then, silent and stealth in the exact way Beth wasn't, Lily was suddenly there, unssen or heard until she spoke. "Hi, Lil. You should get in. The water is incredible." And that was it. Quinn certainly wasn't going to push Lily to get in if the girl simply wished to put her feet in and nothing else. "Yes," there was a similar sadness in Quinn's voice, "As much as I like the Ravenclaw tower and its private library, I think I would have perferred it if I had been sorted into Slytherin with Beth. And for you to have been sorted with us." There were so few people Quinn could easily tolerate, and none of them had been sorted in the same house. She was Ravenclaw, Beth Slytherin, Lily Gryffindor, and Octavia Hufflepuff. Though that last one hadn't surprised anyone.
Quinn thought on Lily's question a moment. "We're both in towers, so a lot like yours, I'd imagine." Obviously the color scheme would be different, but Quinn didn't comment on that. Instead she focused on the details that would matter to Lily. "There's a statue of Rowena Ravenclaw between the two staircases to the dorms. One side of the common room is a laboratory and we have a small private library on the other side. Yours?"
