Flynn had been minding his own business, per usual, when he heard an unfamiliar voice from a close distance. He turned his head to face the blonde girl, his attention drawing past her and towards the long row of empty seats to her right, then his attention went to all the empty seats to his left. This only left one question floating in his head: out of all the empty seats at the table, all of which were a good distance from him, she had to sit right by him?
His dark eyes flickered back over to the first year, whose name he had already forgotten. Mainly because he had not been paying an ounce of attention to her until she mentioned rats. He studied her face, ignoring her big innocent eyes, as he thought of the best answer to give her. Hopefully one that would send her away crying.
"Did you not know?" He finally responded with a straight face, putting his perfect acting skills to good work. "The dungeons are filled with rats." He paused then added, "Big ones. I've been here long enough that they don't bother me, but when I was a first year, I got attacked by one in the middle of the night. Best sleep with one eye open, kid."
He looked away from her now as the Bloody Baron appeared. "Sup, Bloody?" This is how he's been welcoming the ghost since his first year. Some things never change.
