I know who that is!" she squealed happily. EVERYONE knew who Harry Potter was. They learned about him in France too, obviously.
Nettie shrugged. "Normal stuff, chocolates and fudge - oh, peppermint toads! We have those in France," she said with a nod. She'd heard of some of these before, but not many. Bertie Botts was DEFINITELY a new one. The idea of popping a jelly bean in her to mouth, and having it potentially be something disgusting, was NOT her idea of a fun time. Her eyes widened as the girl took one and then promptly spit it out. "What was it?!" she asked curiously.
"Are you a first year too?" she asked the new girl politely. She looked like she was her age, and she was asking questions about candy - she HAD to be new, just like her.

"
Yeah, I'm a first year," said Lydia, still grimacing from the disgusting taste in her mouth. "
I'm not entirely sure, but it tasted like vomit."
There were bottles of something called pumpkin juice on the trolley. Lydia dug around in her pockets again so she could purchase a bottle. What could go wrong with pumpkin? Anything had to be better than the lingering taste from the very deceptive jelly beans. Lydia took a tentative sip of her juice...much better!
"
I'm Muggleborn so all of this is still really new to me," Lydia explained. "
I don't know a lot about the Houses, but it seems like Slytherin tends to produce more bad characters than the others. Is that true? Also, who is Harry Potter?"
