"Are you a first year too?" she asked the new girl politely. She looked like she was her age, and she was asking questions about candy - she HAD to be new, just like her.

There were bottles of something called pumpkin juice on the trolley. Lydia dug around in her pockets again so she could purchase a bottle. What could go wrong with pumpkin? Anything had to be better than the lingering taste from the very deceptive jelly beans. Lydia took a tentative sip of her juice...much better!

"I'm Muggleborn so all of this is still really new to me," Lydia explained. "I don't know a lot about the Houses, but it seems like Slytherin tends to produce more bad characters than the others. Is that true? Also, who is Harry Potter?"
