Soon they were joined by Staysa and his inkling was proven correct. Yes, she would make an excellent co-prefect. "Hey!" he replied, smiling fully now. "I've got snacks right here, if you want some." And he promised that he hadn't done anything to them. He wouldn't, aside from that cooking competition this summer where he'd had to, of course.
The next person was expected too, as he thought that Ravenclaw's leadership wouldn't change. "Thanks, Kirk. Had an excellent summer." Tropical vacation, the badge surprise and subsequent gift and all. "You?"
And next was the Head Girl. Which honestly, wasn't that much of a surprise either. Sudden promotions like his didn't happen often, and there was only one girl who had both already been a prefect and was a seventh year. "Congrats, to you too." And she was quickly followed by....wait a minute. A new Gryffindor captain? What had happened to Zoryn? He hoped she was okay. It would be slightly amusing if the other seventh year had lost his badge. He didn't he much time to sit with that thought, though, as the Hufflepuff captain joined the compartment. And she was another newbie. "G'day," he returned Bel's greeting. Wow, a lot of new faces this year.
Ronan took a peek at his watch. Hmm. It was getting late. Where were Derfeal and Flynn?
