Yes, that would be perfect!
Still, she was a bit too nervous to ask anyone to sit with her, so she instead found an empty compartment and sat in there instead. Then, she pulled her small grey and white kitten, Rudy, out of his basket and let him relax on the seat next to her with a grin.
"Almost there, Rudy!" she assured her tiny pet, clapping her hands slightly in excited anticipation, even though it was just her and the kitty there.
...and now that her luggage was stowed away, Maddie decided to go find a seat. Or an empty compartment. Doubtful. Probably just an empty seat. By this point and time, she'd be super surprised if there were any completely empty compartments. Off she strolled past the front and middle parts of the train. She'd decided on the way home in June that teenagers should sit in the back of the train, and since she was now the BIG 1-3, that made HER a teenager.
Nevermind the fact that she barely knew anyone and still didn't have a solid group of friends after two years here. That was going to change! She was going to be more social and get to know more people. Wasn't that what teenagers did? YUP. She watched a girl somewhat close to her age (she guessed) stroll into a compartment. Bee-lining that way, Maddie pulled open the compartment door and peered inside.
"HI!" she greeted.
"I need somebody to sit with. Do YOU need somebody to sit with?"
Maddie could feel her energy building up, and pretty soon, teenager or not, she'd be bouncing around like a ping pong ball in a phone booth.
