It never bothered Bel to stow her own trunk. A bit of heavy lifting never hurt anyone and besides, she wanted to make sure she could get at it once they were underway, since her uniform was still in there. If you waited to get your trunk in, then it'd go in last, and that meant you could get at it any time you wanted instead of it being buried away under all the rest of them. So she was dragging hers into place and nudging and pushing it to line up on the outside of the existing rows.
The other good thing about waiting until last was that all the pets were in here already and you could go say hello to them and figure out who they belonged to and if their owners were people that you could make friends with. Because pets said a lot about who their owners were after all.
She sat on top of her trunk for a bit of a rest once she was done and fingered the new badge in her pocket. It would be weird to put it on when she wasn't in uniform yet wouldn't it? Also weird in her mind would be putting it on before getting a chance to talk to Isa. Bel had written the former captain in the holidays, but not had a reply from her. It was hard not to be a bit worried if the older girl was okay. Still, she was excited for the term ahead and determined to do a good job.... but also to have as much fun as possible.
But for now.... time to greet all the pets. Bel went over to the cages.
