Because only the best for a Kevelle, lest anyone not realizing we were richer than them. The Horror! Quinn rolled her eyes.

The model of broom in question probably didn't even exist. That's what Quinn would have done, made up some model so her victims would spend, well probably not forever, but Quinn liked to imagine they would, trying to find the broom. Of course, Dena Weisz would not have made it up purposely, she was just clueless about, well everything. As clueless as a gopher. Looked like one too. Quinn smirked to herself at that thought.

"Nonsense, Quinnlin. Of course they'll let you have your own brooms.
They can't expect you to use their shoddy brooms. Those are probably for the kids whose parents can't afford a broom for them."

Quinn threw her arms up in annoyance. Her mother didn't notice. Of course not, that'd require paying attention, wouldn't it? It was on the supply list the school sent, for Merlin's sake! She had shown it to her mother, pointed it out specifically when Mom had first gotten it into her head a brand-new-top-of-the-line-best-of-the-best broom would somehow miraculously make up for this past summer. Typical. Clearly you can see how well Laureline Kevelle pays attention.

Quinn stifled a frustrated scream. She wanted out. It smelled like old cow and feet in here.

Whatever. Let's see how long it took her mother to realize she wasn't by her side anymore. Ideally, Quinn would have left the store, but that was a line she wasn't quite ready to cross. Not while she was going to be sharing a house with her Mother for yet another week.

She snuck over to the adjacent aisle and down to the far side of the store and...Oh! Bats. She snatched one up greedily, feeling its weight, and with a brief sideways glance to her Mom indulged, briefly mind you, in a fantasy where the bludger was her Mom's head.

With an almost longing sigh, Quinn set the bat back down and glanced around. It wasn't busy but then most people probably did their shopping for the school year a month ago, so it wasn't a surprise. She spotted a boy, not that much younger than her....or they could be the same age and he just looked younger... looking through the magazines and ignored him. For about all of a second.

What? It's not her fault he was just begging to be messed with. Really, it wasn't.

Quinn made her way over to the magazines and pretended to browse a moment. "You know they have a secret special going on right? Buy 3 magazines for the price of one. It's not advertised because its one of those secret word of mouth type deals, so," she held a finger up to her lips and gave him a conspiratorial wink.
Mark looked out of the window of the shop to see that his Mum was till very much watching him very closely as he browsed the magazine rack for what he was looking for. He let out a soft grin to he knowing she was very much against letting him go anywhere without absolute supervision, but it seemed that with Xaria leaving her grasp she would soon have to let him go too. He was astutely observant of how she grasped onto Cairo's hand and held him close when they walked together. Mum was constantly asking them both to just do Homeschooling after they finish up at St. Woboldo's.

Dad on the other hand was adamant that he and Xaria, and Cairo once he gets older should all attend Hogwarts....Maybe that's how Xaria got to have an Owl? His Mum and Dad are always finding compromises to live with? Married life must be hard? Maybe it's also Celebrity Life? How many times was he not allowed somewhere because the Paparazzi would jump at the chance to bombard his Mum with picture after picture. He was sure he saw some taking pictures of their Family outing for Xaria's school supplies a few hours ago. Ah well what was he on about? Right the Magazine.

He spotted it and flipped it open briefly wishing to scan some of the articles before reading the specific one on the Cannon Player. Pretty sure the store shopkeepers would rather he buy it before he read it.

Mark shut it very quickly and stuffed it under his arm as soon as he heard a voice creep up beside him!

The young boy jerked his head to the side to see a Girl who must be near his age. "Really?" He looked back at the Magazine rack and scanned it once more if that maybe there is some sort of indication of a 3 for 1 deal. Which would be great because he saw 2 more magazines he wanted to get. "Oh Secret Deal." She said it was a secret deal. "Do you know the secret word then?" That would be mighty helpful.
