Default Exotic Dishes

Sturnik found himself once again stroking his chin with his long fingers. Exotic and weird were what they were after? He could do that.

It was convenient that everything in his culinary repertoire would be considered those things to humans.

He got off to work straight away. He started with a duck. He grabbed a pastry brush and some olive oil. He poured the olive oil into a bowl and began to coat the duck using the brush. Once that was done, he sprinkled a little bit of salt and pepper onto the duck. Just a bit of seasoning, as was tradition. He then lined a roasting pan with parchment paper. Going back to the duck, he wrapped the more sensitive parts that could be easily burned in cheesecloth.

He then popped it into the oven.

While that was cooking, he got to work on the side item. He grabbed another bowl. In that bowl he mixed flour, egg, a bit of yeast, salt, and saffron. He beat the concoction into a thick batter. He started some oil warming up. He then grabbed some apples and parsnips. The sliced those up into various sizes on the bite-sized scale. He tossed the pieces in the batter and then fried them up. He fished them out of the oil and set them on a paper towel to drain the residual oil.

He then went back to the oven. The duck was now a nice golden brown. He pulled it out of the oven and set it on the counter. He quickly beat an egg yolk and returned to the trusty pastry brush. He coated the duck and stuck it back into the oven to set.

Once that was done, he once again pulled out the duck, which was now a golden color. (The color a goblin loves.) He moved the duck onto a serving platter and surrounded it with the fried parsnips and apples.

He grinned at his creation. It's too bad his coworkers weren't here, they'd love it.

"Duck Malardis with Fried Parsnips and Apples." If he was one of those silly humans, he'd add a tah-dah.
