Exotic food wasn’t her strongest area. The majority of what she made came straight out of her garden. There wasn’t anything exotic about that. It was, however, a competition and she wasn’t going to give up so easily. She closed her eyes and tried to think back to her early years. Those precious few years right after she was married to Jim, before the kids came, when they would travel all over the world. Then it came to her. The perfect dish.
She quickly gathered up her ingredients and began chopping mint leaves. Her rum mint sauce needed to rest before topping the lamb. Just as she finished tossing the mint into the bowl for the sauce, a wave of her wand started the fire on her small grill. With a second flick of her wand, she sent some beautiful fireworks shooting up from the grill, giving the audience a little show while she prepared the jerk seasoning for her lamb chops.
Just as the fireworks display finished, her lamb chops were rubbed with the jerk seasoning and ready to be grilled. The fireworks had also been a distraction so she could slip a very tiny fire seed into her cooling mint sauce. It was just the added kick to take her dish to the next level.
The Jamaican jerk lamb chops were perfect cook and she plated one full portion on a bed of edible flowers before topping with the mint sauce. “Today I have for you Fire Breathing Dragon Chops” She presented the beautifully plated dish to the audience. “You will be able to breath fire after each bite! Don’t worry, the cooling mint will protect you from any harm.” After she presented her dish, she quickly plated multiple tasting sized portions for the audience to try. Each little plate had all of the flair of the full portion, right down to the bed of edible flowers.
