It was time to begin. The first category was not one of her favorites. Drinks. The only drink she really enjoyed was tea, and a simple cup of tea would not work in this competition. Then, she remembered her granddaughters fourth birthday party. The weather had turned stormy and the poor child's tears were flowing. She had hurried herself inside and made drinkable rainbows.
With a smile to the audience she began to gather her ingredients. Strawberries, papaya, lemon, kiwi, blueberries, and grapes. The colors of the rainbow. Alice quickly pealed and removed any seeds from her selected fruits. No one wanted a crunchy drink. She added some simple syrup, a few frozen bananas to thicken, and a splash of almond milk to finish it off. Once blended, the liquid resembled the color of storm clouds. Not the most appetizing color, but she wasn't finished yet. Pulling out her wand, she put a simple charm on the drink. "Wait for it" she said as she poured a glass full of the ominous liquid.
She held up the glass to the audience. "Now tap three time as say 'Storms go away, rainbows here to stay'" As she tapped the side of the glass with her index finger and said the words, the drink began to swirl in the cup, all of the beautiful fruit colors began to separate themselves into layers, resulting in a vibrant layered rainbow in the glass.
"Who would like a sample?" She asked as she started pouring little cups full of the stormy smoothy to pass out to the audience. She hoped they would enjoy the treat as much as the birthday party crowd had.
