He had in fact just gotten back and had time to dress and grab his tea and tea cup before rushing down here.

The curse had been fully lifted, and yet still his voice was still a bit deeper and more raspy than usual. A lovely reminder of how close he had come to choking.. Ahh well, at least he had been fully cleared by an overprotective brother and ex sister in law, to come back to work and live his life. Though they still wanted to see him once a month during the summer..

Just in case.

Kalen smiled as he saw Tris already up on the dais, his best friend looked sad and Kalen felt bad, he hadn’t meant to worry him. “Hello, Regina, Roderick and Laurel, how are you all this evening? ” He rasped out before he slid into his seat next to Tristan and gently poked his shoulder.

“What’s a matter Triscuit, you look like you’ve lost your best friend.” Kalen croaked at him as he set his tea cup on the table in front of him and put his jacket over the back of his chair.

Tristan was lost in his melancholy thoughts, and hadn't noticed that Kalen had just walked the length of the Great Hall. He didn't even realize it was him coming down the line of chairs until he sat down and spoke. A shocked look crossed his face for a brief moment before a huge smile that would make angels cry broke out. Before he realized what he was doing, he gave Kalen a hug bear hug. "Seems, I almost did." He said, his voice cracking a little from holding back tears. Emotional Triscuit.

He took a deep breath, giving Kale one last grip, and let him go. The students would be staring, and he was sure their fellow professors already were. "You, my friend, are no longer allowed to go on field trips without me." he said with a chuckle, wiping the one tear from his cheek that betrayed him. He was even contemplating going on that trip with him. He had friends that could come and take care of the animals while he was away.

His best friend was okay. He could breath easy again.

"Evening, Curtains." Tristan said with a nod and small smile. He hadn't really been able to get to talk to the man very much this term. They had all been so busy with all of the different events and things going on. He hoped to get to know him better next year.

He almost...choked up seeing them. But now was not the time. He just smiled in their general direction,...feeling especially quiet tonight for his own reasons.

When was food coming? His stomach was making more noise than he was for once. Many of his colleagues were here, too, and he had arrived a little after students did.

He thought next feast in September, he'd sit with his badgers. It would feel right.

Paul seemed to be reflecting on something. He was never this quiet. It was rather unnerving. But he didn't want to bother the older gentleman. He left him to his thoughts and hoped to talk to him later.

His expression turned to concern as he turned the other direction toward Tristan and Kalen. When he saw how sad Tristan looked, he knew he couldn't hide the sadness in his own eyes. He gave him a wobbly, though hopefully still encouraging, smile, but his smile steadied as he looked at Kalen.

"Evening, Gaston." Tristan said with a small smile. "How are Rose and the Baby doing? I'm sorry we haven't had much time to talk this term." He said patting the charms professor on the shoulder. He could tell Gaston was in a mood tonight. But he wouldn't push the subject. They all were in a mood. They all were worried about Kaysha.

The snakes did really good this year. I'm very proud of them." After taking another sip of juice she asked to distract him since his sad eyes hadn't gone her by. "Got any fun summer plans planned?" "You're welcome! They really did an awesome job this year. As you should be." Tristan said with a wink. He noticed she seemed to be doing better from the injuries she had sustained at Dufftown. "I am so very glad you have healed up well." He said with a nod to her hand and shoulder.

Ah, summer plans. "At the moment just a trip to Wales to visit my family, and then London to get supplies for the creatures. Other than that, I am wide open." He said with a small grin. He really did need a break...maybe he would have to have someone from the Sanctuary out to take care of his creatures so he could have a bit more time.

(He might have also given Roderik two quick pats on his head as he waddled by. A show of affection. Please accept, don't reject.) Bosswoman Reggie didn't get a pat though. She did however get a smug smile and a happy 'good evening' as he found his seat after greeting everyone. SEEEEEEE? He could be reasonable. He could be on time. Kind of. At least he hadn't missed her speech. [/color]

"Evening, Haraldur." Tristan said with a nod and a grin as he gave him a pat on the shoulders. He was a strange old guy, but really cool and very kind. He really enjoyed the older man's company, when they got to actually sit down and talk to each other.

The fellow had looked rather tired when they'd passed in the corridor earlier, and he wasn't sure if it was still new father vibes, or something related to the aftermath from the Dufftown incident. Although not as tired as Curtains, apparently, who seemed to have forgotten what time of day it was. The eccentricity of the man never ceased to amaze.

"Evening, Ignatius. Hope you are doing well this evening." Tristan said with a smile and a nod. He hoped the older man's first term teaching had gone well. He seemed to be in good spirits tonight.

Tristan gave Roderik a small smile and a nod, "Doing well. Just going to Wales to visit the family and then off to London for supplies as of right now. I was thinking we," he wagged his pointer finger between himself, Kalen, Gaston, and the Hirsch, "could sneak down to the pub tonight after the feast. What say you? If anyone else wants to come they surely could. I think we kinda need it." They more than needed it...they deserved it.

When the owl suddenly tossed the letter in Hirch's direction, his eyebrows squished together in confusion. But he didn't ask. It wasn't his business.

Before the eggs even made it near him, he had his wand out flicking them in the opposite direction. "Peeves, go bother someone who isn't competent at using a wand, in other words, yourself." He rolled his eyes at the poltergeist and then heard the Headmistress shewing him as well.

SPOILER!!: Headmistress

"I'm doing quite well, Kalen. Yourself? And how is Kaysha doing?" She assumed he had managed to quickly check in on her before leaving Mungo's and returning to the school.

And then Peeves happened, which resulted in eggs being thrown. Her eyes narrowed as she stood up from her seat, finding his antics anything put funny. She took out her wand and pointed it straight at him. "Don't you have something you should be doing elsewhere, Peeves?" Without another word, she implanted a false memory and then began her walk around the table. It was time for her to give her last speech of the term without any poltergeists around.

"Ladies and gentlemen, another term has come to an end,” the headmistress began. “After everything that we faced this term," – more red hawks, a number of possessions, and the Dufftown chaos – "I think we are all due for a well-deserved holiday. But, as always, there are a few last-minute matters to address and then a feast to enjoy."

"As the banners hanging from the ceiling suggest, Slytherin House has won the House Cup yet again with a striking one-thousand, seven hundred, and fifty-two points. The members of this House have also won the Quidditch Cup. In recognition of their hard work and House unity, a round of applause is in order."

She clapped her hands together, her eyes set on the Slytherin table.

"Now, at this time, I invite our graduates to please rise," Regina continued, pausing for a moment to allow a number of those in the room to stand. "After seven years of education, you have learned so much, made lifelong friends, and even experienced some strange occurrences. Having made it through it all and even surviving your NEWTs, the time has come for you to leave your mark on the world. I wish you all the best as you begin the next chapter of your lives. Good luck, and remember that Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home."

Her hands clapped together for a fair amount of time, followed by a gesture that signaled the graduates to return to their seats and then a grandiose wave of her hand that made a variety of food and drink appear on all of the tables.

"Enjoy!"

Tristan listened intently as the Headmistress spoke to the students. He clapped for the Slytherin's who had put in such hard work this term. He was very proud of all of them.

He then clapped for the seventh years. He couldn't believe another term had gone by so quickly. This kids were just fifth years when he started teaching them. He hoped they all lived up to their potential and reached their goals.

Finally it was time to eat, which he gave a quick clap for as well. He was starving! Time to EAT!
