She opened a compartment door and slid in. EMPTY. Completely empty. That might also be because she was one of the very first to board the train, though. Maybe one of her friends or somebody she at least knew from classes needed a seat, too, and would come sit with her. The train ride always seemed soooooo long.
She swung her still short legs back and forth as she listened to the sound of silence. Her mind drifted to that owl she'd received from her mother not too long ago. A surprise trip to who-knew-where was waiting for Maddie! She was still holding out for Disney World in America!
Her last patrol. With a bag of delicious goodies in her purse, Vi made her way through the compartments trying to see if there was anyone that needed help with stowing luggage or if there were any troublemakers. If there were troublemakers, she wasn't going to be too too tough on them. It was the end of the term and she wanted this to be a fun ride back to London.
As she passed compartments, she stopped when she saw young Maddie Kemp sitting by herself. Huh? What was she doing? Lost in thought.... or something else? Vi knocked on the glass of the compartment door and then slid the door open. "
Hey Maddie! Mind if I join you?" she asked with a grin.
