"Congratulations on the win, by the way. You must be very proud of your house." It was hard to miss the green decorations, after all. Laurel was quietly sipping on some cold pumpkin juice and admiring the green decorations everywhere in sight by the time Hirsh in a simple, but attractive attire arrived on the dais. As he took his usual seat right next to her she turned to him and smiled. "Hi Roderick, thank you, so am I. Penny fixed me up. Luckily it wasn't anything serious." Or she would have gone with Kay and Kalen to St Mungos for treatment too for her shoulder and hand. Her smile grew wider as talk turned to her snakes victories. "Thank you. The snakes really worked wonderfully this year. I'm very proud of them all. Congrats to you and your eagles for taking second place in the Quidditch cup!" It was probably more fun to talk about that than coming fourth in the house points race. "So have you got any summer plans?" SPOILER!!: Tristan Quote:

As he stepped up on to the dais where the staff table sat, he unzipped his leather jacket and turned a smile to those already seated. "Evening Regina." He said with a polite nod. "Congratulations on the win Laurel." He said with a grin and a wink. Tristan made his way up on the staff dais some minutes after Roderick. It was a little odd because he usually was one of the ones to arrive late. Jackets seemed to be the men's theme for the night as Tristan hung a leather one over his chair before sitting down. Looking past Roderick at Tristan she grinned "Thank you Tristan! The snakes did really good this year. I'm very proud of them." After taking another sip of juice she asked to distract him since his sad eyes hadn't gone her by. "Got any fun summer plans planned?" SPOILER!!: Kalen Quote:

He had in fact just gotten back and had time to dress and grab his tea and tea cup before rushing down here.
Kalen smiled as he saw Tris already up on the dais, his best friend looked sad and Kalen felt bad, he hadn’t meant to worry him. “Hello, Regina, Roderick and Laurel, how are you all this evening? ” He rasped out before he slid into his seat next to Tristan and gently poked his shoulder. Kalen was a very nice and welcome sight when he entered the Great Hall. Laurel of course had consulted her precious cards to see if he would attend the feast but she hadn't really wanted to believe until now. As he came up on the dais Laurel smiled warmly in his direction. "Welcome back Kalen! I'm quite well this evening. How are you doing?" The raspyness in his tone was hopefully something that would go away with time and summer rest. SPOILER!!: Curtains Quote:

He sat down at his seat and waited for the others to arrive. Neither Kay nor Paul had arrived yet, which meant he was situated between two empty seats. When where the other women on staff going to arrive? Laurel couldn't help but wonder as yet another male colleague arrived on the dais for the feast. Looking up at Professor Curtains she beamed "Good evening Curtains! Why thank you, you don't look so bad yourself!" Laurel finished off with a wink. "So what do you usually do in your summers? Fishing perhaps?" For some reason she could really see him sitting in a boat on a lake with a fishing pole in hand. SPOILER!!: Paul Quote:

When was food coming? His stomach was making more noise than he was for once. Many of his colleagues were here, too, and he had arrived a little after students did.
He thought next feast in September, he'd sit with his badgers. It would feel right. As Paul joined the dais quietly Laurel had to look over to that side of the table and Kay's empty chair. She sighed inaudibly before plastering on a smile as she greeted Paul. "Good evening Paul." It was not like him to be so quiet when he usually was vibrant and cheerful. She was though not going to ask, it seemed like a better task for Regina that was sitting closer to him. SPOILER!!: Gaston Quote:

A polite nod of acknowledgment was given to Hawthorne, and he managed a small smile for Hirsch and Laurel as he took his seat. "Congratulations, Laurel." Any other time, he would've asked if they had summer plans, but he didn't feel much like small talk tonight, lest his voice betray his emotions. Gaston was the next to arrive. The one of them that had gotten to take the brunt of Kay's spells back in Duftown. Laurel was really glad that he had gotten away with only a broken arm and lots of bruises. She was sure that Rose felt the same. Smiling warmly over at Gaston she greeted "Good evening Gaston. Thank you the snakes did really well this year. I'm glad to see that you are fully healed now too, yes? Rose has been writing regularly to me after that awful trip making sure I'm okay." Which she now was physically.
