"I wanted somewhere over in Denmark, they have a nice little place tucked away but my grandparents weren't having it. Decided it needed to be further and more remote so I guess in the end I didn't have a choice about that either." Her lips quirked upward at the end of her sentence, the smile widening just a bit more while she took in her reflection.
It was maybe another minute before she finally lowered the mirror and looked at him again, the picture of perfect bliss, content as anything while she sat next to him. "We'll be able to talk to each other whenever...I mean there's time differences and you'll be busy and I think sometimes I'll be forced into activities too but this is so neat!"
May the cheering potion never wear off.
Except it would at some point. See? Denmark was something he had expected.
Not Brazil.
His face fell even MORE when he heard that she hadn't been allowed to make the decision after all. That had seemed important somehow. That her going away had been against her will per se but that at least she would be allowed to choose WHERE she was going. Apparently not. "I'm sorry." He looked it too. This really really sucked. There was no other way to describe it. Now he was even MORE glad that he had gotten her the mirror. "We'll make time." He'd stay up late if he had to. They'd figure it out, surely. "We don't have to talk every day. But maybe once a week. Or every other day. Whichever works best." She was right of course. They'd both be busy. But then again, mirroring each other wouldn't be THAT time consuming either. They could make a schedule. It would be okay.
Leaning in a little so was almost leaning against her arm, Cam lowered his voice to a whisper, "Are you okay?" |
