Nolan had never taught with Flamsteed - he'd come after his time at school, which had been brief to begin with - so he still didn't really know much about his character. He'd only met him a few times and he had been nice enough - but the way the man's eyes were piercing into his soul right now made him feel like he did something wrong. How could he have done something wrong, though? He was brand new to the department! There was literally no way he could have screwed something up. Still, he didn't like the way he was just...staring at him like that. It made him self conscious. He hadn't stared at anyone else like that. He rubbed his face nonchalantly, just in case he still had some cream cheese from his morning bagel on his face and that was why he had begun to stare, and looked away hurriedly in his briefcase for his inventory report. He could have just reached down and picked it up...but this allowed him an excuse to look away.

Before he had a chance to give it to him, though, the meeting had begun, thank goodness, and he was able to relax a bit now that Flamsteed was addressing the room as a whole, and not trying to burn a hole in his face by staring at him like that. When he paused, Nolan took that as an invitation to hand in their inventory reports, so he passed it along to him. "OfcourseIhaveitrighthere," he responded with a friendly smile. He'd actually enjoyed the monotonous paperwork task - it had allowed him to get familiar with the Prophecies in the hall, and he'd made a list of those that he wanted to visit later. It had taken a longgggg time, but it had been interesting.

He felt a lot more relaxed that he had finally, FINALLY stopped staring at him too. HEAVY SIGH OF RELIEF. He remained quiet, as he hadn't noticed anything amiss - then again, being new, he wasn't sure he would have even noticed...
