It was that time again, the wonderful moment when work paused. Sure, the pause wasn’t nearly long enough – an hour, merlin that would be a dream. ”this looks, good,” she muttered to no one in particular. It was better than talking to papers, she’d done that recently while sorting out the evidence logs…everything was tedious the searching, the highlighting the constant puttering around whenever time inched closer to lunch.

…but it was here, now. Here, the wonderful time when she was out and about amongst people and away from…evidence. Evidence wasn’t great for conversation. Evidence, didn’t have witty banter…the talking heads, those were a fun kind of evidence – rude, but fun.

Lifting her ham and cheese sandwich to her mouth before inspecting it for globs of dripping mustard was a mistake. s p l a t the cold feeling of wet yellow mustard hitting her blouse was well, brilliant. So brilliant that the twenty some year old woman spewed out a few choice words under her breath.
