"By hand," he added sternly, in case she had ideas of getting it done sooner with magic.
The cheek of her request meant her comments about having from dessert were swiftly ignored. If she was that interested, she could watch him from the Lion table at mealtimes; it'd soon become obvious he wasn't a fruit man in the slightest when it came to dessert. And instead of answering about how he spent his downtime, it was business as usual, and he started on with their lesson in earnest. "Place the moonstone in the cauldron, and add half a litre of water. Place the measuring jug on the desk and examine the meniscus at eye level to get a proper reading." Did she see how was doing it? He expected her to do the same. Otherwise he might be tempted to ensure that her potion did something wonky to her hair. .......... Zoryn would NOT be cleaning anyone's dirty glassware by hand. No way in Hogsmeade! "You're a tough one, Professor," and she respected that. Sort of. Honestly, it made things REALLY hard 'cause Zoryn definitely didn't want to test the potion on her own hair. Ultimately, it was pretty darn evident that Professor Noble wasn't about to let up, but neither would Zoryn! When the rolling got rougher, the tough got tougher!!! Or... something like that. Either way, Zor would probably try to fight it in the end.
He TOTALLY ignored her question! How RUDE.
The Gryffindor returned to her station with the moonstone and dropped it into the cauldron as she was told. Using a measuring jug and her own wand, she began to measure out half a liter of water. "Aguamenti," this meniscus stuff was gonna be way too much effort. She did crouch down to exam it at eye-level, but didn't really care for exactly where the meniscus hit. As long as he THOUGHT she looked like she cared, everything would be fine.
That was close enough to half a liter anyway. "Speaking of reading, is that what you like to do for fun?"
