Hopefully it was just nerves with the beanie, maybe I'll be better this time around?
Ah, wonderful! Professor Kay had books (hopefully with pictures/how to's). She almost wished that she had brought extra denim, so that they could get started immediately, but she could still use this time to cut the denim to her measurements. Using her list, she made the appropriate marks on the fabric for the waist, and then had a little debate with herself. The professor was going to make jeans, huh? Did Kye want jeans? Or did she want to stick with her original plan of shorts? Hmmmmmmmm....... Nah, shorts were much cuter with her halter idea.
She marked the denim, as with the shirt's fabric, she gave herself a bit of extra just in case. Maybe she would roll the bottoms? She wasn't sure yet, but she could decide that at the end when was closer to the final product. Thank you, Professor Kay, for the mannequins! Because that made it so much easier than just laying it on the table.
With a deep breath, Kye got her shirt's fabric and turned it inside out, laying it in place to sew. Deeeeep breath, you can do this! [/QUOTE]
With a smile, Kay handed the books to Kye. "This should help us.'' Without further ado, she began cutting her denim, measuring carefully as she went. Who wanted too large or too small jeans? She kept an eye on Kye in case she needed help as well as the other students within her line of sight. "That's a good idea, using the mannequins, I mean,'' she told the Snakette. "Don't mind if I steal your idea.'' Kay hung the cut fabrics on her own labelled mannequin. Ah, yes. It was much more organised this way. "Are you a fan of sea turtles, Ms Atwater?'' Kay questioned conversationally
Once the cutting was done, the more technical job of sewing began. Here, she would need the much guidance of the books. SPOILER!!: Daehyun! <3 Quote:

After putting the leftover pieces of fabric back in the cabinet, Daehyun returned to his and Shera's workstations and threw away her scraps, too. When he finally returned, he'd noticed that her second outfit was done, and he couldn't help but grin. "Shera, this is so cool!" Cool was probably not the best word choice - maybe stylish, but it'd been the first thing that came to mind - but all in all, he liked it. And as much as he liked the dress, this one was a lot more - Shera.
Nodding, he said, "Yep! All done." His hand went up for a high five.
Two purebloods who hadn't even known what a sewing machine was had managed to complete two outfits without sewing their fingers off. He could celebrate, right?
The flush was easily noticed. Kay wondered what was up with the Gryffindor but didn't press him for information. Supposed she made him uncomfortable with that? It was the last thing she wanted so instead, she nodded. "Very well. I'm glad you were so thoughtful in wanting to recycle the materials.''
