So she was excited for the lesson. she hoped it would be interesting, and well, not boring obviously. "Hello Professor!" The beamed, greeting her head of house as she came to where was. She adored her head of house, so she was just feeling super interested in what today would entail.
Then she headed to the pillows, and picked herself a yellow one, and plonked herself down. She shifted her bum a little, before making herself comfortable, and crossing her legs. Now, to wait for everyone to come and they could begin. Oooh. This was exciting!
The warmth had Paul in a good mood, a calm mood. He smiled serenely at Hattie. “Good day, m’dear. You look cheerful!” SPOILER!!: Zarina Quote:

As she approached her classroom, she saw the foggy greenhouse and knew it was warm in there. Once she opened the door, she felt a blast of warm air. She smiled and prefered the warmth over the cold. She took off her layers and felt comfy in her school uniform.
Zae saw another student was here and it was a hufflepuff. She nodded and gave a quick wave. She turned her attention to the board and saw he needed to sit on the pillows indian style? Hmm alrighty then. This slytherin said, "Hello Professor." She sat down on a purple pillow because she was biased with her favorite color. She sat indian style and waited further instructions. “Good day, Zarina!” Paul said kindly as she made her way inside. She had chosen a purple cushion, like himself. The color of royalty, eh? He also wasn't a fan of... sitting on cushions on the floor.
The fourth year sighed as he entered the greenhouse and took in the sight before him.
"Professor Myers." Maxton gave the Head of Hufflepuff a nod in greeting before stepping over cushions, finding himself a place closer to the back of the greenhouse and sitting down cross-legged.
HE SKIPPED THE CUSHIONS. HOW COULD HE. Paul gasped, audibly. “My good son! You do not wish to relax on my amazing cushions?!” Paul was messing with him. But his face…looked seriously surprised. “Their feelings are so hurt! How could you DO this to them?!” SPOILER!!: Emmalyn Quote:

As she walked through the door, she noticed lots of fluffy pillows and the professor wiggling his rump on a purple one. Maybe he had poison ivy in a delicate area? She had learned at a very young age to stay away from anything that looked like poison ivy. She assumed a herbology professor would also know how itchy that could make you. "Hi professor!"
Shrugging her shoulders, she grabbed a bright pink pillow and found an open area of the floor near the side of the room. She placed her bag, containing parchment, quill, and herbology book, down and flopped onto the comfy pillow. “Hello, little Emmalyn. Good day to you!” He called out to his young badger. She had been doing brilliantly in rehearsals lately for her dancing roles! SPOILER!!: Isa Quote:

Yellow was not only her house color, but it was also a very happy color in general. Isa liked yellow. ”Hi Hattie! How are you?” Look at that, they even had matching yellow cushions! Would they be learning more about uses for plants today? Isa took a special interest in that area of herbology, so the lessons this term had all been super interesting! Actually, she found all herbology lessons super interesting. Herbology was her favorite subject in general. Maybe by the time she was studying herbology more in depth in university and doing research of her own she’d be able to pick which areas of herbology she was most interested in learning more about. Oooh, they were doing breathing exercises today? How wonderful! Isa was very much into meditation and that sort of stuff. Isa took a big deep breath, mentally identifying as many types of plants in the greenhouse as she could. And a big breath out. This was good.
There she was, Isa! Paul smiled. “I almost thought you weren’t coming because you weren’t the first one here, m’dear,” Paul teased her. SPOILER!!: Junia Quote:

DOROTHY HAD ARRIVED. Paul had taken particular interest in Junia’s wellbeing after casting her as Dorothy and often asked if she EVER NEEDED HELP carrying all her books and whatnot because HE COULD NOT LET ANYTHING happen to her. Merlin. “Good day, Junia, dear!” he waved. SPOILER!!: Natalie Quote:

She had been reading books on underwater plants, though, and considering they were in the greenhouses today, she assumed they wouldn't be learning about those. Nevertheless, she was still excited.
Coming into the greenhouse, Natalie found an empty pillow near the front and wiggled her bum on it until she found OPTIMUM comfort. This was nice. Almost too nice... What if she fell asleep? “Goooooood day, Natalie!” he called out to one half of the McKinley twins. Where had the other gotten off to? SPOILER!!: Stasya Quote:
Originally Posted by SilverTiger She still wasn’t entirely a fan of Herbology, but the fact they hadn’t had to deal with mandrakes again lately had relaxed Stasya the tiniest bit when it came to the subject. Plus, she’d been seeing Professor Myers a whole lot more since she’d gotten a part in the play, even if she knew her part wasn’t nearly as big as some of the others. That didn’t matter to her. Not when she had everything else going on, between regular classes and her extra language classes and visiting the barns regularly.
Either way, she’d been hopeful as she’d made her way over to Greenhouse One for the next lesson. She had no issue with finding out uses for plants. Maybe they’d learn about edible plants and she could experiment with her baking again. The woodlice cookies she’d made for Picketta hadn’t been that bad, after all and that had been ages ago. More possible experimentation would be fun, but class first. “Hi Professor Myers!,” she said, giving him a smile as she picked a pink cushion and moved it over close to where Junia was sitting. Giving the older Slytherin a smile as she sat down and sending Isa, Hattie and Natalie a wave, she tried to get comfortable. Breathing exercises were way easier when she was comfortable. “Hi there, Stasya!” Paul said as he looked round for a clock. He had forgotten his watch today. It was sad. His poor wrist was naked here. Still had a bit of time before class began! SPOILER!!: Patrick Quote:

Hearing that they were to sit down to work on breathing exercises he found a nice fluffy pillow and lowered himself to the ground. His growth spurt over the summer had made it a few inches further to the floor. He was hoping that he would be taller, but here he was still a shrimp compared to his brothers. His thoughts continued to run as he crossed his legs on the pillow and awaited further instructions. “I am simply GRAAAAND, Patrick. Grand. And how are YOU?” He asked the SLytherin with UTMOST cheer. Brrr. Thankfully as she approached Greenhouse 1, it was clear the professor was well prepared for the weather, a warmth permeating even outside the glass enclosed classroom. “Good day, Professor Myers,” she greeted the man as she entered the greenhouse, her eyes taking in the changes made to the space. No tables or stools…or plants covering as either this time around. Just cushions….the Ravenclaw taking claim of a green one off to one side.
Cross-legged, she could do that, Cass settling herself down before shifting into the desired position. She could also do with the breathing…something, anything to keep herself calm. She found herself getting nervous and concerned or agitated at the oddest of times and reasons lately. 7th year was proving to be…interesting.
Cassie was going to graduate this term, and as she came into the Greenhouse today, Paul realized this fact and almost FROWNED. Cassie was a great student...and as a former Ravenclaw himself, he had such a soft spot for the quiet, studious Ravenclaws. Granted, Paul had never been quiet in his life. Probably not even ONCE. “HELLO, Cassie!” SPOILER!!: Jessa Quote:

Surprisingly, she didn't mind it this go around even if it was the clearest indication that they wouldn't be doing anything that she liked.
The man had already set the tone for the year with his lessons. By now she didn't show up with expectations, instead she got her fill and satiated her curiosity outside of lessons. He was good on that, on facilitating her learning and she appreciated him for it.
Jessa took a seat closer to the back for no other reasons besides it just being one of the closest.
Were they doing more on plant use today?
Speaking of Ravenclaws, here was Jessa. Another Ravenclaw he admired for her studiousness, though slightly different than Cassie’s. She had taken particular interest in his flesh eaters lately, and Paul found her curiosity endearing. “Another one of WHAT lessons, m’dear?” he asked. Were his lessons not EXCITING enough for you, Cambridge? SPOILER!!: Ronan Quote:

Once he was settled, Ronan crossed his legs and sat up as straight as possible. He found that it helped with these kinds of exercises for some strange reason. "Hey, professor," he greeted, voice sounding slightly tired from everything going on recently. “Hello, Ronan. LOOK ALIVE, M’BOY!” Because Paul didn’t want him to fall asleep in class. HELLLO. He looked exhausted. SPOILER!!: Daehyun Quote:

Like things about natural habitats, or -
... remedies for when his curiosity got him bitten by something lethal.
Right?
"Hello, professor," he said with a nod as he stepped inside greenhouse one, before making himself comfortable on a blue cushion. He might be a lion, but his favourite colour still remained blue. “Good day, Daehyun!” he said with a smile. “Nice to see you!” Another one with a keen interest in his subject area. She arrived and noticed the pillows were out. Ah, it was one of those days? She didn't mind that, but she was slightly worried she would fall asleep. "Hi Professor!" Kye greeted, a small wave to Professor Myers. She found a pillow, and plopped into it. “Hello there, m’dear!” Looking spritely, eh? Paul smiled. TIME TO START YET? NO NO..no. He checked the time again, and no. Not yet. He was getting antsy...though...breathing exercises would help that. SPOILER!!: Kirk Quote:

Cross-legged, okay. Thankfully he didn't wear skinny-styled pants or this wouldn't be a very comfortable position. Kirk wondered what they would be doing today as he took a dark blue cushion to sit on. “Hello, Kirk!” he saluted him. With a name like Kirk...it was hard NOT to salute the boy. SPOILER!!: Rylee Quote:

Either way she liked these lessons and was sporting her usual bright smile as she entered the Greenhouse. "Hello, Professor Myers!" she greeted happily giving the older man a wave. Grabbing herself a very pretty light purple pillow she dropped it on an empty spot up close to the professor and plunked her bottom down on it wiggling all about to get extra comfortable before crossing her legs. Tugging off her hat and gloves she shoved them into her bag which was laid at her side on the floor.
Which plants would they be working with today?
Rylee seemed to always be in a good mood! “Hello there, m’dear! Good day to you!” he nodded back at her, changing his position on the cushion for the seventh time. Antsy. SPOILER!!: Alyce Quote:

The redhead greeted the Herbology Professor and gave him a polite nod before she went to grab herself a pillow. She found herself a nice spot and crossed her legs.
Breath in. Breath out “Helllllllo there, Alyce!” he smiled and waved at her as she came bustling inside, looking quite cold. All of them looked pretty cold when they first came in. The warmth from the Greenhouse must have felt amazing. Paul didn’t want it to get too stifling, though. SPOILER!!: Zoryn Quote:

Why did anyone need to practice breathing anyway?
SEE, useless.
With all of this in mind, the Gryffindor entered the Greenhouse and immediately looked for some familiar faces. "Ryleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!" Her QUIDDITCH FAMILY. Also, hey paul. What's up? Aight aight aight okay okay okay. Zor dropped down on a plump pillow next to her reserve player and joined in on... y'know, the breathing stuff.
Here came Hurricane Zoryn Spinnet. Paul merely smiled at her, watching her closely as she descended upon poor, unsuspecting Rylee. SPOILER!!: Skylar Quote:
Originally Posted by PhoenixRising Honestly? Skylar had NO idea why she was bothering continuing with her NEWTs level in this subject. Also, her owl results had pretty much summed up well her dislike for the subject. But for some odd reason, play reasons perhaps, the sixth year found herself trudging along the crunchy, frozen ground to the greenhouses. Layered, of course, because she wasn't an idiot.
Though when she entered the greenhouse, it was WARM. Like way too warm for all the layers she had on. Really, Professor Myers? This was how people got sick. Pulling off her out coat and scarf, she quietly observed for a moment who was there. Isa, perfect! She needed to talk to the Hufflepuff Captain; give her some INSIDE SCOOP on how to crush the Gryffindor team in their upcoming match. Because if she couldn't win, yes, she was going to be supporting Hufflepuff - Parental and Friend Loyalty yes she had friends in Gryffindor, but HATTIE was in Hufflepuff, among others. So she had been making lists of all the things she'd observed from playing the lions and was prepared to talk strategy to her fellow captain. After the lesson, of course, because she didn't need Miss-Zoryn-Spinnet eavesdropping. Not to mention, Isa was practical a genius when it came to all things Herbology and probably was due to her that Skylar even passed her owl exam at all.
Blue pillow collected, she beamed at the Professor. "Hello Professor M!" and plopped down right by the fifth year to discuss walking back to the castle with her. Because it was super important. Also, breathing exercises? Were they doing YOGA? IS THAT WHY they were sitting on the floor? Skylar MIGHT be down for YOGA; oh! Maybe it was a PLANT-TYPE Yoga, where you had to assume positions of the plant. Yup, she'd be so down for that.
Skylar always intrigued Paul because he thought she loathed Herbology and struggled with it...yet she kept taking it. Not that he minded; he had convinced himself it was because HE, Paul Myers, was just THAT great of a professor, and felt quite smug about this. “Hello, Skylar!” SPOILER!!: Theo Quote:

"Hey Professor Paul"
He took a random pillow which so happened to be pink and sat crossed legged.
Why were they doing yoga he has no idea but he was just going to go with it since it was better than lecture and notes.
Professsssssor Paul. He felt cool when they called him this, that he was COOL with this. Professor Paul was perfectly acceptable. “Hello, Theodore!” SPOILER!!: Juniper Quote:

Yep she was totally eyeing the purple pillow. ”Do you like purple too, professor?” There better be another purple pillow left. Or He might be sitting on the floor without a pillow. Yeah probably not.
Juni grabbed a purple pillow the last one to be exact. You were just lucky there professor Myers you were. She tossed the pillow on the floor at a random spot in near the back, plopped down on the pillow and crossed her legs. “I do enjoy purple, yes, but I enjoy most colors. I go through color phases, if you will.” And this month he was feeling PURPLE. “Welcome to class, m’dear!” SPOILER!!: Olivia Quote:

In fact, upon be-bopping her want into Greenhouse One, appropriately bundled up for the January cold, Olivia found herself utterly delighted to see cushions. They were... doing breathing exercises? LIKE YOGA?! Beaming at one of her favorites ever, she quickly did as was instructed, selecting one of the cleaner pillows (that was colored golden) to sit on.... Look, she was still very much a princess, and couldn't help herself at time. This was just one those times. Prissy-Missy alert. "Professor Myers!" This was happily exclaimed as she went about getting comfy (near Stasya, of course). "I wanted to speak to you about....helping you with costume things." Olivia had been meaning to take a trip to his "office", but NEWT study was owning her at the moment. On top of quidditch practices and learning her lines.. Her time was frustratingly limited. "If you needed an extra hand, of course."
THERE SHE WAS. Olivia. Who had so rudely not come to Hogwarts last term and was back! “Hi, Olivia! Welcome to class!” He waved at her. “Of course, if you have time, you can definitely help!” He knew how busy she was. But some students enjoyed being super involved and constantly busy. "Good day, Professor. I hope you're having a good day." She took her seat and settled into her pillow comfortably. Her Pilates practice set her up well for meditation, although there was a bit more noise and activity than was helpful for proper meditation. Breathing, though, Katy was a pro at breathing.
If Paul had been able to read her mind, he would have been touched. And he would miss Katy when she left, yet another seventh year he would grow sad about leaving. Olivia, too, now that he unfortunately remembered. “I am. I hope you are as well!” He smiled. SPOILER!!: Daisy Quote:

"Hey Professor Myers!" she greeted happily, finding herself a nice cushion and and dropping herself straight down into a cross legged position as she'd been instructed. This was going to be interesting... “Hellllllo there, m’dear!” he said cheerily to the young Ravenclaw. Class was almost ready to begin, as he let his eyes flicker to check the clock once more. Pushing her way into the greenhouse she looked around and openly rolled her eyes. Not this mediation sit on the ground bull dung. She would get her uniform dirty, ugh Zita did not sit on the ground.
Glancing around she took a pillow and gave a hair flip as a greeting to the man. Now who was here and who could possibly be the lucky person to let her sit on their lap so she wouldn't have to sit on a pillow ON THE GROUND!
….and here was Zita, who Paul would greet as formally and not warmly as possible. “Zita.” Was all he said. He found her immaturity getting under his skin almost daily, and he very much wanted to write home to her mother for her immense amount of spoiled-rottenness. Paul had never felt such feelings towards a child before, and it alarmed him. His patience had just...run thin with her. “OKAY! Hello everyone, welcome to Herbology for today!” Paul scooted his cushion to the front of everyone else, and sat up straight while addressing them. Hopefully everyone could see him, or at least see his white cotton candy hair. “We will begin...as I said, with some breathing...exercises. So everyone get in a comfortable sitting position!” He remained criss-crossed and relaxed his back and his neck. Paul’s voice kept at a soft...relaxed tone. “Roll your head...around,....a neck roll, if you will...very slowly...and breathe in while you roll…….and then…...now……….out…….” His voice trailed in. “In………..and now, out……..” Ah. His brain was already calming down; the antsiness was dissipating. “We will repeat the neck rolls...for a bit….”, And Paul repeated the same instructions for a solid minute, just soothingly so. “And now...change directions of rolling...roll your neck the other way….breathing in……...out……..and in……..and out……” And he continued on that for another solid minute. Relaxed. “Now reach your right arm up up...up….towards the sky….breathing in as you do…..wiggle your fingers...reach the heights of all your dreams and all your aspirations...still breathing in…..” He instructed. “And now….bring your arm down slowly...breathing out negativity...breathing out self doubt...and icky feelings……” Paul repeated the same instructions for the left arm, raising his own very slowly as he breathed in….and pulling it down as he breathed out. Releasing all those negative thoughts on his mind, thinking of his GOALS in life...Ah. He felt...at peace. “OKAY!” he called out suddenly, snapping everyone out of it hopefully. “We’ll be discussing and doing quite a bit of things today. VARIED things. But first things first...can someone tell me what an essential oil is...or what an EXAMPLE of an essential oil is...or just ANYTHING you know at all about essential oils. Perhaps...what things USE them? Anyone?”
AND THE LESSON HAD BEGUN. He eyed some of the potted plants on the sides of the greenhouse. OOC: Hi guys! The lesson has officially started, so please don't post arriving late unless you and your character are willing to accept IC consequences, as always! <3 I meant to move this on yesterday but my last two days were SO busy...so moving on today! Will try to move on in 24 hours give or take a few. Please do not mention TOO MUCH stuff about essential oils because I would like everyone to have a chance to contribute.
