Entering the room with a spring to her step, blue eyes scanned over everything already trying to decide what she wanted to play. "Hello!," she chirped happily smiling brightly at her older house mate. "Whatcha doing?" She wandered over to check out what he was playing. He wanted company, anyhow, she was sure of it. If he was going to play a game he needed someone to play with! Matt looked up to see a little firstie skipping into the room. Ahh, to be eleven again... no NEWTs to study... no thinking about your future career... no idiots to deal with.
Well, there were first year Slytherins too. Okay, Matt took that last part back.
Although the girl was speaking directly to him, he simply watched her, without saying anything at first. He just sat there for a few seconds as she wandered towards him, looking all innocent and just being a happy-go-lucky ray of sunshine.
Ah... to be eleven again.
That meant he would take him WAY longer to leave Hogwarts and to start his training as an Auror. Hm, alright. Being eighteen had its perks. A lot of them, actually.
But studying for NEWTs was not one of them, that was for sure.
Anyhow, this little girl was pretty much right at his face now, so he gave her a tired smile and finally responded. "Fancy building a card house with these?" He held up the Exploding Snap deck. "Have you ever built one?" The seventh year asked, making some space on the table in front of them and placing the deck to a side. He took two cards and carefully placed them on the table facing each other, their tops touching and eventually he managed to get them to stay still, balancing off one another. "Tadah!" Easy start, nothing had exploded yet. All good! |
