Hogwarts RPG Name: Addison Ayers First Year | “Thank you Professor,” Kye acknowledged, trying to pretend that he hadn’t slightly startled her. She had been so focused on little mouse that she didn’t hear him come up behind her! She set the mouse down while she wrote her notes, letting him relax… poor guy.
Next of course, it was time to try out Mismemini… Kye had not used this spell before so she took some time to practice after writing her notes. First off, who decided these incantations because this was a tongue twister! She had to keep thinking of it as Miss-me-mini or else she would switch the n and m around. Oy vey. “Mismemini. Mismemini. Mismemini. Mismemini,” she practiced. Next, she practiced the wand movements a couple of times, making sure to do the X and not the tail. In her head, Kye imagined a completely different course, zooming through it double speed. She imagined being the mouse and finding the cheesecake in the back corner of the maze.
Keeping this in mind, Kye picked up her little friend, waved her wand, and tried out the spell. She wished a little thought bubble or something would actually appear to show that it had worked. She placed the mouse in the maze, same as before, and released him. Kye raised an eyebrow, thoroughly intrigued to find out if the spell had worked or not.
The mouse immediately sped off to get the cheesecake. Whoa! Slow down there buddy. He followed the course that Kye had thought up for him, getting caught in a dead end and coming to a halt. He probably felt more confused now than he did when she had used Confundo. He was almost pacing in front of the dead end, trying to find a way through. Finally he gave up, and tried speeding off in a different direction. You could see his frustration at the situation growing every time he hit a dead end, and not even 30 seconds before class was over, the mouse finally found his prize. Good Glory, that timing! Way to go little mouse! SPOILER!!: Notes!
My expectation is for the mouse to do best with the Confundus Charm, and worst after False Memory. *Observations*
Confundus Charm - He is much more hesitant, as can be expected. There is more backtracking than in previous runs... After a few setbacks, he has made it! Time: 00:01:47.
Obliviate - He knows what he is looking for, and is less hesitant in his decisions. He has to relearn the maze, yes, but he shows determination. Time: 00:01:39... He has already ruined my hypothesis.
False Memory Charm – He was much quicker… but in all the wrong directions. He is showing an increase in agitation, and seems more confused than with previous charms. Time: 00:04:21
Conclusion – Originally I had thought that he would get past Confundo the easiest, considering the fact that he would still have a recollection of his route. In actuality, the mouse was 8 seconds faster after I erased his memory of the dessert's location.. The second half of my hypothesis was correct, however. Using the False Memory Charm caused many delays, and ending in more than the other two times combined!
Kye couldn't help but immediately decide to keep her little mouse animated FOREVER!
What a great idea! She cleaned up her station and approached the professor with her little purple mouse. Since she couldn't take Edie to class, maybe she could sneak this guy in. Oh... he would definitely need a name.
"I'm interested in making him permanently animated, Professor!" she said excitedly.
Kye imagined using the spell to make everything in the castle come to life... just because! Insert evil laughter here. |
