Too caught up in helping Bel to fully hear what Professor Stewart was saying, the blonde kept her eyes trained on the machine. "It's going to help with how the stitches translate to the fabric. It should hold all your layers together, while you're doing the actual sewing." ...but she'd need to test out the machine for herself once they got to that step. Since it did seem like they would be sewing something in class today.
Gosh, yes, this Gryffindor was excited. Well, as excited as one could be over a potential class assignment.
....And because she had real life experience with sewing machines, Liv was comfortable leaving hers until a bit later; for after she could get Bel situated. The Hufflepuff girl had introduced herself, but Liv rarely forgot faces and names. She'd made Seeker for her house team! This called for an offered handshake! "Olivia Phillips, resident drama geek and verified bad mama." No bad language in class, she'd reminded herself; even if the wording sounded less impactful than she'd originally intended. "It's nice to meet you."
Hmph. Actually, without getting permission, Olivia stood and quickly made her way back to her own desk, putting some back into it to get it slid over to where the younger girl was working. It'd probably be better for Bel to go by example, since Professor Steward did have so many kids in this lesson who were struggling with with the steps. Not everyone had the background in theater costuming that she had. So, assuming this was okay since it was all in the name of helping another student, the blonde quickly caught herself up. She'd already wound ample thread around her bobbin. So, cutting the thread connecting the bobbin and spool would be next.
Also...... shifting her gaze between the Slytherin girl known as Zita.....and the Ravenclaw girl she'd just been sitting next to (Juniper), Olivia was forced to roll her eyes. These young girls.
