The words Max had been dreading. He took the fabric he had cut into size and placed it carefully under the needle. He didn't want to get too close to the needle in case it spiked him. Suuuper careful, he was.
Professor Stewart had lost him at backstitch but he was going to give it a shot.
He guessed roughly how far away an inch was, and positioned his fabric in the spot under the needle. And then, everrrr so gently, he pressed down on the foot pedal. The machine whirred and Max pushed the fabric upwards until he reached the end of the fabric.
HE WAS SEWING.
Excitement got the better of him, and without realising he pressed harder on the pedal. He had to sew from the top all the way back down! He maneuvered the fabric as best he could but it was tricky focusing on the foot pedal AND moving the fabric.
His stitching had started about an inch in, but by the time he'd reached the other end it was at least three inches in. "Uhm, professor?" He raised his arm, brow furrowed. "Does it matter if the sewing goes wonky?"
