Derf waited a moment, glancing anxiously back and forth between Natalie and the mermaid, mostly waiting to see if she would animate...but for now it seemed she was content stationary with her fingers in the middle of combing her hair. "Hmmmm," sighs and furrows his brow slightly. "Sometimes she needs a few minutes to warm up to the presence of visitors....though sometimes she just waits for the tub to fill. Connection to mermaids and water, I reckon."

Glancing up at the stained glass window again, Derf gave Natalie's hand a tug towards the main tap and used his free hand to twist it on. As soon as he did so, the others began spouting warm water into the massive tub.
