"Maybe you should ask him about this..." She didn't have any experience with theatrical performance so she couldn't really give him a suggestion. Ooops. But the voice... Yep, the badger knew why he felt the part was not suitable for him. So Derf really needed to talk with Professor Myers. "Initially, what part did you want to get?" She asked curiously. Diandra had only seen the movie once and tried to remember the characters there... Those characters was posted on the notice board right? Seeing the cast names, she saw some names that was familiar like her dorm mates Steph and Farah... Then there's Zita, Hattie, Vivian... "At least you got a bigger role than just an apple tree or a flower, right?" Cue a little grin. Derf was busy ruffling his hair, though he DID hear Diandra speaking to him and he was nodding along in acknowledgement. He knew their Head of House was unconventional, it was something that Derf could admit to always liking about the man - conspiracy theories aside - and considering the caliber of girls that had tried out...there HAD to be a reason. But he wasn't even properly dancing in the script from what he could see on the list...though he was sure that he could always ask to include a dance number. Derf didn't particularly LIKE showcasing himself, but he was kinda proud of himself for being a bit of a triple threat and, well, he wanted to dance and move around on stage.
Was why he had auditioned for...
"The Scarecrow," he said, answering his friend's question as he smiled over at her. He knew what she meant, but it wasn't a competition on who got a bigger role or what - he wasn't jealous of anyone, not really - but it was like when you saw this bowl of ice cream and you THOUGHT it was strawberry but then when you popped it in your mouth you found out that it was peppermint. Just a shock to the system, yeah? "My monologue was even one from the character," he added a bit sheepishly with a small chuckle. "Figure I may as well try to take advantage of my lack of coordination, you know?"
Somehow getting his hand to stay OUT of his hair, he slid them both back into his pockets and turned properly towards his fellow fourth year. "You didn't audition?"
