Stella Marie Reed Daily Prophet News Reporter | *heart eyes at YOU* a bit of madness is key | miss chanandler bong | those cunning folks use any means Text Cut: Individual replies and handing out jerseys! An excited voice made the Flying Instructor turn around from unpacking and recognized Emmalyn, the young Hufflepuff chaser. "Emmalyn! Of course, of course, of course." He stood up straight and shuffled over to the yellow pile of jerseys. "Let me see..." He murmured to himself as he bent over to sort through the pile. "If I remember correctly, you have number 2... Ah, here it is!" He pulled out two jerseys. On the back was her surname and the number 2 in proud, yellow Hufflepuff colors. He raised his head when she was joined by another members of her team, Derfael. "Hello, hello, hi there." He greeted. It didn't take him long to pull out two jerseys with the correct number 4 on them. This Beater had a lengthy surname, but it still fit nonetheless on the back of the jersey. "Derfael, number 4 to you." He handed the jerseys over to the young boy and straightened his back a little before gesturing to the rest of the Quidditch gear. "Go ahead and take some gloves and goggles, you never know if you need them." The weather wasn't always reliable and one never regretted the use of goggles on a rainy day.
The next player to arrive was one of his Gryffindor Beaters. "No, no Callum." He said as he shuffled towards the pile of Gryffindor gear. "You get two jerseys and I don't see why anyone else shouldn't be allowed to wear the other one." He pulled out two jerseys with the name Kettleburn and the number 4 on the back. "Here you are, my boy." He murmured, handing it over as his eyes drifted towards the open door to spot more arrivals.
He probably should have assigned a time for each House to collect the gear. But who had the time, though, really?
Another Hufflepuff made their appearance and Haraldur bent over the pile of Hufflepuff jerseys again. Before she had the time to greet him he pulled out the Hufflepuff seeker's jerseys, sporting her surname and the number 7. "Hello there, Bel." He smiled as he handed them over. "Your jerseys." He did notice the team spirit in the Hufflepuff team and it made him proud to see it. Quidditch - strengthening bonds between students since forever. All sentimental gush aside, the first Ravenclaw player stepped inside the room. "Rhea! Good, good!" The first Ravenclaw to arrive but one of the many Beaters. No surprise really that the Beaters were among the first to arrive. "I have your jersey riiiight here..." He sorted through the blue pile of jerseys before he found what he was looking for. "Here you go, number 4." He handed two jerseys over with her name and number. He barely had time to look over her shoulder at new arrivals before he spotted another Hufflepuff. Back to the yellow pile it was.
Haraldur gave the Hufflepuff Chaser a smile before he quickly found her jersey. It wasn't that difficult, seeing as it was on top of the Hufflepuff pile. "Harriet," Fellow cloud gazer, "You have number 1." He handed over her two jerseys with the name Paton and the number 1 just below it and again he was distracted by a new arrival.
It was about time one of his Captains showed up and why not the loudest most energetic one? Haraldur gave the Gryffindor Captain a little salute. "Zoryn! One moment." As she turned to her teammate, Callum, he looked through the red and gold pile of jerseys before he pulled out the two Captain jerseys with her surname and the number 5. He waved them in front of her. Dangle, dangle, dangle."Here you go, Captain." He said, waiting for her to grab them from him as the first Slytherin player showed up. "Ah, Vivian, come in, come in!" He waved one arm for her to enter properly. The other teams didn't bite. Or he'd bite them. "Slytherin seeker..." He said to himself as he flipped through the green and silver pile. "You are number 7 and your jerseys are riiight...." One moment, please. "Here!" He pulled out the jerseys with her surname and the number 7 and handed it to her. "I'm sure your Captain and the rest of the team will be here shortly."
But not before another Hufflepuff arrived. Their enthusiasm impressed him. "Daisy," He waved her over. They had to move in a steady pace to get their jerseys or he would fall behind and there'd be a line. Everyone hated those. "Here are your jerseys, number 9." He handed the yellow and black jerseys over to her, with her surname Swann visible on the back.
Another Ravenclaw player arrived and Haraldur overheard her question to her teammate. "You're just in time, Magnolia!" Being the Ravenclaw Seeker meant her number was 7 and he quickly found the two jerseys in the pile of blue and bronze. "Here are your jerseys, right here." He handed over two jerseys with her surname on the back and quickly glanced over the top of her head to see any more players arriving. "All right," He said in a loud voice, hoping the chatter would die down a little, even though the room was filled with excited teenagers he hoped for the best. "Now that you all know your number and have your jerseys, you will find your cape hanging on the nails next to the door. But there's other gear to pick up as well." He shuffled over and gave one large trunk a little kick of his foot (because he was too lazy to bend down). "There's standard equipment in this trunk; gloves both fingerless and not, goggles, shin and arm guards. Please help yourselves." Which translated to; I'm too lazy to hand out all of this individually. Also, please don't shove each other. "Depending on which position you play, you need different things; Keepers: There's a selection of protective head and chest gear in that corner." He pointed over his shoulder. "Beaters: Please select a bat which you will use for the season, there behind the Gryffindor Captain."
... Go nuts? "Ask if there's any questions." He said, allowing himself to sit down on one of the benches. He had to sit down, to be ready to hand out more jerseys for arriving students. It wasn't an act of laziness.
As the students began digging through the Quidditch gear, he opened a bag of peanuts.
