Daisy thought for a moment. "I think I'll pass on the brownie as well since it's Halloween," she said as she got up and ordered their meal.
A few moments later their meals were on the table. "I'd love to go trick-or-treating with you. Classes are going pretty good. I love Care of Magical Creatures and Divination. I'm surprised at how well I'm doing in Potions."
Emmalyn watched Daisy walk over to place their order. The warmth from the fire was heavenly and the room was filled with happy chatter and comforting smells. She liked the feeling she had right at that moment. She was slowly starting to feel like her new magical life could be what had been missing all along. It wasn't that she had been unhappy at home during her muggle days, she just had always felt like some part of her was missing.
She allowed herself to daydream for the short time Daisy was away, letting the soothing feelings of belonging fill her soul. Upon her return, Emmalyn's focus was redirected towards the present.
"I'm glad classes are going well for you. It would be amazing if Hufflepuff won the house cup this year. I guess we all better be at our best to keep in the running."
"Are you planning on going home for the upcoming Christmas holiday?" She was starting to wonder how many students would be staying at Hogwarts for break, like she would be. She imagined the castle would feel quite empty with most of the students and staff away.
