The day just got a WHOLE lot more interesting. "Oh, no, I'm ok, thank you," he told her, leaning against the bookshelf with a small smile. "Do you work here?" he asked. He doubted she was just THAT friendly to offer help to whoever she had come across. "And I really like your hair, by the way," he told her, nodding towards it. OH BOY.
Oh boy, oh boy, OH BOY.
Maia could tell this boy was trouble by that grin on his face after he looked at her. She was ditzy, but she was not that ditzy, Mister Cute Face. Or maybe she was because she was still standing there, looking at that cute face, grinning right back at him. "Do... do I work here? I wish," she replied back. For real, she hoped whoever ran this place would at least give her a chance... if they were hiring, that is. She hated being POOR. It sucked! It could be worse though. She could be homeless again, but she had an awesome little brother who took care of her. Maybe, just maybe, she could hit up her newfound older brother for some cash. HMMMMMMM.
Oh, hair compliment! It, of course, made her smile even more. "Why thank you, cute face!" It was acceptable to call him that since she didn't know his name, right? "What sort of books are you looking for?" She glanced at the bookshelf to see what section they were at.
