She had stopped in the kitchens on the way to shove a few snacks in her bag along with filling up her bottle of water while she was there.
Then she had bolted back to the infirmary, before slowly entering to see if Daehyun had already made it there or if she had beat him. Despite having travelled so much further. And being exhausted after that.
Apparently she was there first. She hesitated in the doorway, waiting for Daehyun to show up. The creatures were his forte and, even though these were babies, she would feel a lot more comfortable with him there to make sure she was doing the right thing! At least it gave her time to further gain control of her breathing, drink some more water and start nibbling on one of the muffins she had been given by a house elf. Daehyun had lost track of time after Shera had left to the Ravenclaw tower, bathing in the sun rays while waiting for the girl to return, nearly falling asleep on the grass. Flustered at the possibility of making her wait for him, he ran the short way down to the nursery, where he remembered he'd stumbled upon it not long ago while exploring the grounds.
As he approached the nursery, he slowed down his steps when he saw a hesitant figure waiting just by the door, giggling to himself at her antics. Was she afraid to face the infant creatures by herself?
With slow and careful steps and lips pursed to hold back laughter, he walked behind her, and covered her eyes with his hands, hoping they weren't too cold, and praying that she wouldn't elbow him in the nose or anything of the sort - though it would be good to know she had fantastic defensive reflexes. He wouldn't mind it either way. |
