"I'd like play professionally if I could," Shera admitted. But it was one of those things that was subject to change and currently, she knew it was nothing more than a dream of hers.

"Step one is still making it onto the house team..." and even if he was also keeping his fingers crossed for her she was nervous, probably mostly because she was the only first year in her house that she knew was trying out.

...

Daehyun looked horrified.

And Shera was feeling the pressure from having created that.

Her own cheeks were burning just as hot, and she knew she had probably turned the brightest shade of red she had ever been in her life. She was still silent and mildly horrified at how this turned out as she watched the boy just curl up and bury his face in his legs. It was only his quiet mumble that had gotten her to realise that she should probably do something. Opening her mouth she tried to respond but couldn't find the words.

"I..." she couldn't find the rest of that sentence, cutting off for a moment before she tried to go on again. "I'm not going to run away... I mean.... you... you're my friend... and I also really like your personality..."

She was not going to make it even by calling it her greatest weakness. But admitting that she did enjoy his company and his personality might help him feel a little bit better. Cautiously, she moved her hand to rest on his shoulder. But... she hesitated.

What did one do in this situation? She decided to commit and rest her hand on his shoulder like she had seen others do. It was a comforting gesture, right?

"Ah," he hummed, agreeing with her point. "You're right, it must've been just as exciting back then." And once again Shera was right - he would soon lose count of the times she'd been right and he hadn't, but he was also surprised that he didn't mind it. She was only proving him the golden rule - that women were always right. He knew better than to argue with that.

"You're already halfway there," he said, referring to both her playing professionally and making it onto the House team. Wishing and determination were the first steps. "And now you've also got a great motivator." He was clearly talking about the sight of him with his face painted in blue and fluttering his pom-poms in the air, not the coolest broomstick in the history of broomsticks.

... he had broken Shera.

It was something quite natural to see a flustered, stuttering Daehyun, but he was internally crying when he'd heard Shera - always perfectly composed Shera - barely form a coherent sentence, and for some reason, he hadn't scared her away yet. Her words only made him turn redder, though his face was still hidden in his knees. "I'm really sorry," he said, his words muffled as his face was buried. "I would hide in this lake right now if I knew how to swim." Or maybe he could do it, anyway, if it meant escaping that horrifying situation.

At a loss for words when he'd felt a light and hesitant touch on his shoulder, he looked up to meet her face that was just as red as his. "Do you think we could exchange your flying lessons for human interactions for dummies?" It would surely benefit him more. "I-I'm really sorry-can we please forget what I said-I mean-" Oh, boy, what was he doing... "Not-not to forget it like it's not true, but-" He buried his face back in his knees. "I'll just shut up now."

... by far the best decision he'd made all day.
