"From what I read they used small trees as broomsticks, cutting off some of the branches if they were too wide. Or they could use a large branch that still had others coming off of it but that was rarer. They didn't invent the cushioning charm that is now on broomsticks until about the early 1800s, so it wouldn't have been comfortable to ride a broom until then."

And despite her attempts that had once again taken a slight tangent and she had gone off rambling again. And then because she was thinking of brooms, it went off on a new tangent as she blurted out, "Mum and dad have said if I get on the Quidditch team this year they're going to go with me to buy a new broom for next year!"

That was only one of the reasons that she really wanted to get on the Quidditch team. The other was she just wanted to play Quidditch.

Shera laughed at the thought of his parents being happy that they only had him. "Mum and dad were happy just having me, they say I was a handful of a baby. They only had my brother three years ago," she told him. Then she decided to go on to lightly tease, "Although we bring home significantly fewer strays than you do..."

And before the took that the wrong way, she should probably address that. "It's a good thing that you do though, it shows that you're very... caring," that adjective was probably the best. Though that wasn't the only thing that showed that trait. The robe currently resting on her was also evidence of his kindness.

Stay that way? Well it showed that he liked her the way she was at least, which made her smile brightly at him. "That shouldn't be too hard."
As Shera had once again gone off into detailed explanations, Daehyun could only purse his lips to keep his grin at bay while paying attention to her words. "I'm no expert on the dynamics of all this, but surely those broomsticks," he made air quotes with his fingers for emphasis, "couldn't have cut through air too fast?" He supposed the current design helped a little. "Ow," he commented with a flinch, thinking about the discomfort Quidditch players must have felt before the cushioning charm.

His eyebrows went up at her declaration. "You'd better make it on the team, then," he grinned. "A new broomstick and your own fanbase," founder and sole member of which was sitting right next to her, "you're basically a pro already!" Maybe she would even follow that path after graduating. "Have you thought of a model you'd like?" Not like he would know anything aside from what he'd briefly spotted in the displays on Diagon Alley, but he liked seeing her so passionate about something.

He hummed in acknowledgement when she'd mentioned her brother was, in fact, a toddler, deciding it wasn't the right moment to share that, while he was great with infant creatures and loved nurturing them, the same didn't apply to small kids, nor was he particularly fond of them. He hoped he would take that fact to the grave with him.

At her following statement, however, he looked at her with a cat-just-ate-the-canary grin. "What do I do now that you've found my greatest weakness?" he asked with a laugh, his cheeks reddening.
