Most people didn't study in the towers. But Farah liked to keep her 'head in the clouds'. Something her father told her time and time again too. So the astronomy tower was the perfect place to study.
In fact, Farah had all the intentions to study. All her books were brought up here with her (and they were heavy and that was a lot of stairs, thank you dad). She even had her parchment and quills all ready. She made a little section on one of the couches and pulled the handy blanket around her as she began studying.... fully intent on staying here all night if she had to.

Only she fell asleep.
On the couch.
With the blanket.
And a book open in her lap.
Go figure. There is not a lot of things that would convince Simon to go up to the Observation Deck in the Astronomy Tower. The Top Floor was reserved for those strong of Lungs and brave of High Altitudes. Or, at least Simon believed he was afraid of Heights. He never really had to look out a Window in the Top Floors. Again he probably just refused to because of his unproven fear of heights.
Making excuses to come up here didn't seem to stop his legs. The good thing about this trip was that he didn't have to stop and use his inhaler once coming his Common Room all the way up here. Good job, Badger. Swimming laps do show major improvement.
Right anyways what brought him up to the Observation Deck? Maybe he was thinking he'd run into some of his Gryffindor Friends on his trek upwards. Running into Theodore would be always Welcome. Abey was a must. He definitely wanted to run into Abraham. Zoryn would be a Surprise that leads to a Surprise with multiple more Surprises that would follow after that.
Alas. No Gryffindor he wanted to see crossed his path.
So that's why he was all the way up here.
Because of a Big Waste of Time.
he brushed the mop of brown hair out of his face and walked over the Couch and was about to sit when he recognized Farah. Was she sleeping? Why?
He looked at the book on her lap and figured out why pretty quickly.
He would fall asleep reading too.
Good News Simon. You got yourself a Friend to be up in the Observation Deck with. He leaned down and poked Farah on the Shoulder to wake her up. "Farah?" |
