"I wonder where this is....and what that thing was." The Ravenclaw touched the glass, confirming that it was indeed still a mirror and not a portal that could be traveled through. When touching yielded such results, the girl took to knocking at the glass next. "Hello! Anyone in there? Can you hear me?" Would it come back? How very very very curious. "I wonder if the portraits would know anything about this. They've been here long enough." Jessa turned to Nat again. "I don't think we have anything to worry about. If it'd been a malevolent being bent on destruction,, it wouldn't just be moving back and forth across a mirror."
Unless...y'know...it was biding its time, but she wouldn't be saying that to Nat, just in case. Honestly, Natalie couldn't hang out with Jessa without getting roped into something potentially dangerous and life-threatening. Jessa thrived on life-threatening situations and Natalie wanted to run away from them at the first second. And she hadn't even gone to hang out with Jessa; she had just stumbled upon her in the hall! Merlin, she was cursed. Good thing she liked her.
Still hiding behind Jessa, Natalie clung to the older girl's arm as she studied the mirror. Oh, but then she started TALKING to it. "Don't ask it questions!!" she hissed, trying to pull her away from the fake mirror. What if it ANSWERED?? And it was a BAD ANSWER??
She was too young to die, honestly.
Jessa was probably right that the portraits could know something about it, yes, and Natalie thought it was a great idea to GO ask them instead of lurking by the dangerous object. "OR," Natalie counter-offered, still tugging on the girl's robes to get her OUT of there, "It could just be waiting for an easy target, and right NOW, WE ARE EASY TARGETS." |
