Or a fun idea at least? Bel hadn't actually intended to get herself in the situation that she was in, but here she was. She had just been walking along minding her own business when she'd had an 'ooh shiny' moment, and enough curiosity to go and lift one of the visors and peer inside. And THEN she had thought why not actually, you know, BE inside one of them? She'd never worn a suit of armour before, or even SEEN them in person before she had come to Hogwarts. There just wasn't a lot of that sort of thing back in Aussie. She'd looked for the smallest suit and started pulling it apart. But apparently magic armour made things easy since it sort of had just... opened itself up invitingly and she'd immediately gone ahead and stepped into it, only to find it snuggly closing around her AND magically adjusting itself for her height and size.
And then she'd tried to move.
And.... it hadn't worked.
At all.
Because apparently a suit made out of metal was heavy, and when it was magical it was doubly so. So here she was standing in a suit of armour, lined up with the others. Shorter than the rest, but just as still and silent.
It seemed like no matter what she did, she couldn't make it move. The armour was well content just holding her prisoner (or maybe it liked the company?) She wasn't sure if she should yell out and make a racket, or if she should try to get out of it herself. Would she get in trouble? She hoped not! That was the concerning bit really, she hadn't been trying to misbehave.
And then, after what seemed an eternity, she heard a voice. A hello.
Bel was a BIT concerned about what to say to that. She didn't want to give the person a fright after all. She also wasn't the sort to mess with someone on purpose either.
So the smallest suit of armour remained silent, listening carefully. And not at all noticeable amongst the much taller ranks around her.
.... right?
Silence was the response that the new Gryffindor Prefect had received. Hmm... Vi pursed her lips, gripping her wand a little tighter. Okay so perhaps Peeves wasn't nearby. She ruled this out pretty quickly as she felt fairly confident that if it had been Peeves then she would have heard him by now or at least smelled dungbombs by now. Then who was here...? Or what was?
She focused on the who first.
Perhaps it was one of her mates playing a trick on her? Her mind immediately jumped to Matt Solo and his trouble-making and jesting ways. She chuckled, rolling her eyes. "
Alllllright, Solo, you can come out now, mate," she began with her Australian accent becoming more pronounced by the minute as it seeped into her normal almost London-esque accent. Hailing from Melbourne tended to confuse people as your accent wasn't the broad Australian accent. Plus hanging out with all these Brits had influenced the way she spoke. "
I knooow you're just trying to unnerve me because I told you not to lead too many first years astray this year... But that doesn't mean you shouldn't have fun..."
Silence again. No giggling. No laughing. No sssshing. Nothing. Nada. Nil.
Weird.
Actually it wasn't completely silent.... All she could hear was her heart beat slowing down and becoming fainter and fainter by the minute as she became more relaxed. Vi lowered her wand and slipped it into her robes' pocket. Huh. She must have truly been alone, huh? Olivia eyed her watch on her left hand and then saw that she probably had a couple of moments before Erik would come back to see if she was ready to move to the next floor. Perhaps she could get him to check out this room. Because even though she couldn't hear anything, she felt that something was off.
SpeRevelio, she thought of first, trying to determine if her uneasy feeling was coming from some sort of spell, charm, or jinx. Nope. Nothing. How intriguing. Olivia bit her lip, wondering if perhaps someone was actually in this room. They would have had to use some sort of silencing charm or softening charm to dull noises. Or they'd have to be pretty good at hiding....
At that very thought her eyes landed on the suits of armour themselves. Maybe hiding in there? she thought as she tilted her head and stared at a suit of armour as tall as Ace. Vi squinted her eyes, trying to see if she could see someone or something there. Maybe it was a little creature that had ended up in the castle. A Niffler even? It'd make sense for a Niffler to be hiding in the suits of armour or trophy room as they had expensive tastes... Peering into the suit of armour, she found nothing. Crossing her arms, she slowly began to walk around the room, taking a moment to examine several of the suits of armour until she found one that was shorter than her. "
This is bizarre..."
Perhaps she was overthinking things. Not a big deal. She should go find Erik and continue on with the patrols. A thought crossed her mind. What if...? Eying the shortest suit of armour, she readied her wand. Could a first year be hiding in there?
Homenum Revelio, she thought, casting the spell non-verbally. Her blue eyes widened when she "found" where someone was hiding. She chuckled. "
Okay Solo. I've found you. Your fun's all over now. You need to go back to the common room," Vi crossed her arms. Why wasn't he giving up and admitting that she was correct or at least protesting the fact?
