Recognizing the girl who asked the inevitable as the Divination WIZ, and older Hufflepuff, whom she hadn't pegged for a flyer but then again, this was the first term quidditch was back in a decade so who was she to judge.

"Oh hey, Scarlett," she greeted, "Because I got a newer model for my birthday and captaincy present over the summer and don't really need two." Really, it was a perfectly logical explanation. Although she kind of felt guilty now about selling it after Hattie's revelations to her, but how was she supposed to predict that the Paton girl would have wanted to play quidditch after years of saying she couldn't.
Captain? Oh. Yeah. Look at that. Scarlett's eyes finally found the badge on the younger girl's robes. She was hardly concerned with the badges in other houses, though. She paused and tapped her chin as she thought before nodding her head.

"Yeah, that makes sense. I'm gonna try out and was planning on borrowing my brother's broom - don't get me started on why he's being a chicken and not trying out himself," she grumbled, waving her hand because that was a long story and she didn't want to get into it.

"Um, how much do you want for it?" she asked. It made sense to buy her own broom. Even if she didn't end up making the team, it WAS nicer than Clay's and she could give it to him. He at least did summer camps, so it wasn't like the thing would go to waste.
