June breathed a sigh of relief out of the corner of her mouth. Huzzah! Someone to talk to her first! She pushed her straight brown hair behind her ear and extended her hand to the girl.

"Hi, Emmalyn, I'm June." She said in a voice that, in this room, was quiet as a mouse. She sounded a lot louder in her head though. She gave a toothy smile, which crinkled her eyes, as she greeted the other young Hufflepuff.

"Yes, I'm a first year." She said, looking around the room. "I've... never seen this many people in one place before." she looked back at the other girl who, in contrast to herself, appeared to be a lot less anxious.
