Expectation had obviously been dashed in one, foul swoop. He tried not to let it get to him— the overwhelming anger at himself for being an complete and utter disappointment to his family name— but that was a rather tall order for an eleven year old. Al tried to muster up his manners, he tried to talk himself into engaging, but he was a disappointed kid. And he didn’t want to interact. Unless he was forced to, really.
Daisy noticed a rather sad looking First Year that seem to want to be left to his own devices. If he wanted to interact, she'd be a friendly face for him.
