She liked the difference school and schedules made to her life and was excited to get back to seeing her friends and classmates all the time. However, there was just something... off about her.

Maybe it was partially because Derf was going to be sitting in his new compartment this time and she wouldn't be able to sit with him. She had been excited for him when he told her he'd received a badge, but at the same time had been a little jealous that she hadn't gotten one. Her mum had reassured her that it was still early and she had time to get one, but... still.

Trying to move past prefect thoughts, Natalie was stalling by getting in line at the food trolley to grab some snacks for herself and her twin brother for the ride.

It was probably smarter to start it after a feast like that rather than committing to a plan with all the food in the world in front of her. So a box of Bettie Botts, two cauldron cakes obviously one wasn’t for her and bag of frizzy wizzies. She would probably change her mind about fifty times before she got to the front of the line.

Probably Bel should go find somewhere to sit, but she couldn't help but be distracted by the food trolley. It was wishful thinking on her part that there might be some lollies of the sort she was a fan of, the stuff from back home, but still, in her time in Scotland and England she had at least tried a few of the British sweets and come across a few that were okay. Chocolate Frogs were no Caramel Koalas or Billywiggles, or Bubbling Bunyips, but they were fun at the least.

She hadn't changed into her uniform yet, still wearing a baggy t-shirt that proclaimed 'sunset to sunrise beach party Coolangatta' tucked into the front of tatty denim shorts, along with worn hightop sneakers. She was also riding a pennyboard up the corridor, neatly dodging other students until she reached the line for the food trolley. Bel pulled up short, caught up her pennyboard, and tucked it under her arm, even while trying to crane her neck to examine what was on offer on the trolley itself.

The familiar faces in front of her were an instant distraction though, and the Australian girl smiled brightly at Juniper and Natalie - both in the year above her. She had made friends with boys in their year the previous term - Derf and Abey, and Cam and Liam, but hadn't quite managed to do so with the girls yet, though she'd seen Natalie at Liam's surfing comp of course. "Hi girls! Good Hols?"

Here's hoping her accent wasn't coming on too thick today.
