If she was honest (and Bel was always honest), Diagon Alley just wasn't exciting to her. It was quaint and everything... but quaint was just a word for old that was supposed to imply that you thought the oldness was inherently sweet.

Bel just found it old.

That was the thing she noticed most about the UK, and the magical part especially, everything was old and everyone here seemed to associate old with magical. Like they thought that something being older meant that its magic was better or something. Maybe they didn't notice all the dust and the grime? Bel wouldn't want to offend by pointing it out.

Today was her first trip into the Alley since summer had began. She'd spent almost every waking hour either surfing at the beach, or riding one of her motocross bikes on the muggle tracks. Sometimes spending time with friends here and there, and plenty of times spent with her brother and sister. Anyways, she was here to shop. Books and robes and all of that which had mostly been preordered and she only needed to pick up. Important that: or she'd get completely distracted and probably not get anything done. And that.... that was still a very real risk and ohhh her shoe was untied!

She scratched her thigh absently, where the hem of her ratty denim shorts had left an imprint from sitting against them on the Knight Bus, and sat down suddenly on the park bench. With her head down and her long hair forming a curtain around her face, she hoisted her foot up and retied the long laces of her very worn (but comfy) high top sneakers.
