Now she had to be getting new books and stationery, supplies and uniforms. Wouldn't be much longer now. Horrid realization really. Hogwarts had been less than favourable at the end of the last term and with that letter, she couldn't imagine the new term would be any better.
Decidedly willing to postpone her preparation for as long as she could, the Ravenclaw veered off into the candy shop. Might as well get something for Emmy and Ezra while she was her; both children had seen her walk into that fireplace and say "Diagon Alley" and both associated the place with an abundance of toys and candy.
Just ahead of her, she could make out a familiar figure. Huh. Not a completely terrible trip to the alley today then. "Nat." She called, quickening her steps by just a little until she was standing by her. "Stocking up on candy for school?" She was avoiding Madam Malkin's because it was always a madhouse and flooded with first years getting their first sets of robes. Natalie had been growing quite a bit, so she needed to get some new clothes for Hogwarts. But... she was stalling.
Hearing a familiar voice, Natalie looked back and saw her favorite Ravenclaw as she joined her at the candy. She smiled. "Yeah, I guess. And getting some chocolate frogs for Derf," she added, gesturing to the stockpile of chocolate in her basket. "How's your summer been?" she asked, moving down the aisle to some more chocolates. It was a shame they hadn't hung out all summer. She wondered if Jessa had gone to Zita's party that she and Liam very deliberately did not go to. |
