Parties and everything gave Abey-- Abra --all the mixed feelings. He had been terribly excited about being even invited to an actual proper literal party, as he really did have a tendency to worry about what people thought of him and if he was liked and whether everyone hATED HIM (it was a possibility, alright? at the very least, surely some people in school thought he was weak or a baby or something like that). Then, after the initial excitement about the invitation, the anxiety had started. Aside from the general worry about being surrounded by loads of people for a long time (which wasn't necessarily a bad thing, it really just depended on the day), Abra had started to worry about all sorts of ridiculous things, namely whether it was all some sort of joke at his expense. Not that he was that self-centred that he thought that everything was about him, but his anxiety didn't really care about that.

Because, after all, he'd not been at the End of Term Feast, or even at school, when the invitations had been deposited en masse. No, he'd had his invitation sent directly to him because he'd missed all that, and therefore just a tiny niggling worry about how legitimate everything was had started to emerge.

Of course, that was easily fixed in the end. Abey had-... Abra had checked with his close friends about whether they were invited and if they were going, and naturally with that verification he'd felt an awful lot better about going. A quick test of the invitation with an old Sneakoscope he kept hidden away in his bedroom helped to seal the deal.

Now, all he had to worry about was making an idiot out of himself, rather than letting someone else do it. And... well... also the fact that he had gone from an Egyptian summer to a British one in seconds and was already getting just a bit shivery. Hopefully he could have some time to warm up before getting ready to swim and everything. Thank Merlin he'd thought to wear a hoodie.

He kind of wanted to appear with a playful and dramatic 'hellooooooOOOoooo!' but, as soon as he reached the area where the pool was, seeing all the people already there very quickly changed his mind. So he settled with a general, "Hey everyone..." and a smile and an at-first-awkward-but-then-slightly-more-self-assured little wave mostly at those he knew as friends.

Théo was nearby and naturally Abra wanted to sidle up to him because his face was the most familiar, but the manners and respect that had been deeply ingrained in him brought him instead towards Zita. Sort of. He didn't want to get caught up in too many people, you know. "Thanks for inviting me, Zita." She got a smile too.

Now he was here, his nerves about the whole thing were starting to recede. As was almost always the case, the anticipation of the event had been much more of an issue than actually being here, and, for the time being, Abra was glad he'd turned up.

Right then, now he clearly needed to pounce on and torment Théo.

J0rd4n FL1NT was not exactly the party-going type of person. He knew this, because upon noticing the invitations to the party at the feast, he had promptly ignored them. It wasn't that he was necessarily worried about going, it was just that it hadn't interested him at all. He preferred NUMB3RS, of course, and 'people' and 'making friends' were incredibly low on his list of priorities. 'Parties' too.

Parties meant breaking routine and often going somewhere new and doing all the unexpected things and being in L0UD PL4CES with L0UD ANN0Y1NG 1D10T5, which weren't really things that Jordan liked. At all.

BUT, AS IT H4PP3N3D, some of his friends (and he did have those, even if it had not been an entirely intentional thing, making them), did like parties, and were going, and it had been the lure of spending some time with them (and, okay, mostly of getting up to 4NT1C5), and also the reassurance from the care workers at Stemp House that he could go back there whenever he wanted, that had changed Jordan's mind.

And there he was, the square-root of J-squared, cannonballing directly into the pool without so much as a 'hello' or a 'cool house' or an 'exactly whose party is this again?' or even a 'let me just take my shirt off before literally diving right in'.

After making his entrance, J0rd4n resurfaced again, treading water and spitting out a glorious fountain of the stuff directly upwards, before looking up and around at the others there. And then... AHA.

"S0R4Y4!" he bellowed across to his friend. "G3T 1N H3RE!"

He thought this was a P00L P4RTY, not a ST4ND-4R0UND-TH3-3DG3-0F-TH3-P00L P4RTY.
