He approached the office door, levitating two cups of coffee he got from his own coffee bar in front of him - he thought it would help keep the mood as light as possible - and knocked with the hand that wasn't holding his wand.
He made his way to the sofas and took a seat, gazing intently at the mural on the wall as he waited. He always had mixed feelings about that mural. On the one hand, it looked a lot like a scene from the books about knights and dragon's that he loved to read as a child, but it also stirred up memories of a much less pleasant encounter with a dragon from his past. He shook his head and took a sip from the mug of coffee he'd made for himself, hoping to shake the sad thoughts. If he allowed himself to think about that right now, he'd turn into a sniveling mess, and Hirsch did not need to see that! Coffee. He needed coffee.
Yawning, the Defence Professor sat behind his desk, rubbing the bridge of his nose. Everything from the essays he was marking to the reference books he was checking lay scattered across his desk in one large, jumbled mess. It probably wasn’t the best way to get this last bit of marking of the year done but it was the result of the hours he’d spent sitting here. The mess just.... happened.
Just when he’d decided to head down to the kitchens for a cup of coffee - probably with an extra shot or two - there was a knock on his door. Hirsch was halfway up from his seat when he paused and blinked in the direction of the closed door, as if he could see directly through it. He wasn’t expecting any visitors, was he? No. No one had an appointment with him so unless something happened....... "Come in!" he called, sitting back down again. That coffee could wait and so could this marking. OOC: RHIIIIIIIII! I’m so sorry to keep you waiting for so long! You’re more than welcome to post in the office thread now ^^ Quote:

And more than anything, Zoryn really needed one of those right about now.
It was a strange feeling, being sad. Not something that Zoryn often experienced... And when she did, it'd always be pushed away as soon as possible. 'Cause feelings? Gross. Z only liked the good kind of feelings like EXCITEMENT AND HAPPINESS AND ADVENTURE. But all the other stuff was gross, especially sadness.
As she inched closer to the door, the Gryffindor put a smile on her face ('cause the only thing grosser than being sad was when other people knew you were sad) and knock, knock, knocked. Leaning back in his seat and looking far too casual, Hirsch was currently scanning the contents of a letter. This letter was one that came every year at this time and consisted of the same messages: updates on his nieces, the latest bit of gossip about his neighbours and the ridiculous questions about when he was going to provide some kids of his own.
But then again, his mum was that ridiculous.
The man was all too glad when something broke through his concentration and gave him an excuse to look away from his mother’s latest pleas, even if it came with the possibility that someone had burnt down one of his Defence rooms. Give him something, anything, to think about that wasn’t as serious as the topics in the letter and he would be happy. "Come in!" OOC: IT’S ARIAAAANAAAAAAA I’m sorry to keep you waiting for so long as well! You’re welcome to post in the office thread now ^^
