Merlin, Paul hadn't even been paying attention to the answers because of Derf fainting. Luckily, the boy woke up pretty quickly, and Paul breathed a little easier. "Welcome back, Derfael. Are you feeling okay?" he asked. "Did you hit your head, do you remember?" Because if so, Paul was much more inclined to send him straight to the Hospital Wing. If not..then...he was probably okay to stay the lesson. Not that this was an extraordinarily IMPORTANT lesson.

"ANYONE who guessed Nightlock---which is what it is in the book, or NIGHT SHADE, which is what the night lock is backed on, is correct! Nighshade berries are....deadly! I wouldn't mess with them. At all. But you seee.....in this muggle series, the briefest of rundowns is....the--" he patted Derfael gently on the shoulder. "The books are set in the future, in America, a different sort of future than you'd think of. Basically, teenagers are forced to play in a game where only one can survive. They must survive in the wild, mostly...and they have to forage the land. One wrong move, and they could eat nightlock and die. Today, we're focusing on the "foraging' off the land part while also learning a little bit more about night shade." Ahem. All of the threads he had connected together, and his eloquent way of explaining them, were out the window with his mind focused in on Derf. "Derf, do you think you need to go to the hospital wing? Do you know what year it is? Or who the Minister For Magic is?" eh?

"Okay, kiddos, what else can we do with berries and other foods besides eat them? If we were surviving in the wild and had NOTHING but our bodies...and clothes, if we were foraging for berries and fruits, what ELSE could we do with them? Don't think survival---think LEISURE!" he wondered if he had given his thought process away O__o

He felt pretty scattered currently.
