"Whatcha doing?" he asked, assuming it was alright for him to join her and plopping himself down right next to her. "Oooooh, aquatic plants? Dad knows loads about that. He helped take Stubby Purple Coral off the endangered species list. Or...well...it's SOON gonna be off the list he reckons."

Aquatic plants were also the ONE little niche in Herbology that Derf had a somewhat keen interest in. For amphibian and reptile reasons, mostly.
