Gaston had barely enough time to remove the sonorus charm he'd placed on himself when he heard the voice of Zoryn Spinnet shouting back at him. Okay, so that was a poor choice of words. No, it didn't sound like they were alright, but the question had been more of a warning than anything else... so they wouldn't be caught off guard by his presence in the dorms. "Let me rephrase that... is anybody physically injured?" he asked.

Walking into the boys dorms had been a shock, but this was just heartbreaking! He heard Zoryn's screams before he peered into the room and saw her crying. He knew why as soon as he saw the ripped photographs. For a moment, he was at a loss. Mentally shaking himself, he rushed to her side. "I know you're upset... you have every right to be," he said, hoping his words might comfort her. He would feel the same way if his office was torn apart like this! "But I promise we will fix or replace everything in this room." He carefully picked up a torn piece of photograph. "I can try to fix these for you..." And he was already formulating a backup plan, just in case he couldn't. Surely if someone owled Ms. Janvier and explained what happened, she would replace the autographs!

Then he saw Stasya curled up on the floor and his heart ripped apart like the pieces of the stuffed goat she held. She looked so pitiful! He just wanted to give her a hug, but he thought that might scare her. instead he knelt beside her, looking at her with sad eyes. "It's okay to be sad... just let it out," he whispered. He swallowed hard pinching at the inner corners of his eyes. Merlin, seeing his little Lion cubs like this was going to make him cry with them! He took a deep breath. "I'm so sorry this happened to you... and your goat..." But mostly he was sorry he'd been unable to protect his students from this. There had to be something more he could've done to prevent it!
