She watched as Becca started to move things around on the refreshments tray like she was looking for something or other. Nodding Sophie responded "Yes, it was a fun night. I walked away with a handy clock for my grandmother from the auction tables." Maybe she was less anxious about starting her new job now, but she wasn't going to give the Orientation event that she had really thought a big waste of time that credit. And she wasn't going to tell Becca her real honest feelings about the Orientation event at a rugby stadium either. Cringe.
Sophie's brown eyes travelled from the wonderful smelling coffee in her cup to her very distraught looking and sounding new boss. Oops! Reaching for her wand with her free hand she quickly made the liquid disappear with only a teeny tiny bit of reluctance. Eyes on her boss Sophie apologized. "I'm sorry I didn't know you could become nauseous just by a smell." Something to log into memory. "What on the tray can I drink that is safe?" She was not interested in inconveniencing her boss a second time. Sophie would work. It was better to be on first name basis with people. It helped with the camaraderie in the field if they needed to go out and deal with something big. "Fantastic! I hope your grandmother liked the clock?" Even with the coffee smell, Becca was focusing on Sophie. "How did you find Orientation?" Becca was curious to see how people felt about the event to see what she could suggest to them for next time.
Letting out a sigh of relief when the coffee disappeared and the smell followed it quickly, Becca smiled at Sophie. "Thank you. It's been a lifelong problem." She wouldn't tell her what happened if she ingested any of the foul stuff. "Anything else. I have no idea how the coffee got there! I don't allow it into my office at all and I'll have to investigate how it got there." Had Gid done it to try and get her excited at finding the perp and tracking him down? If so, he was in sooooo much trouble. "So, Sophie. How have you found the department so far?" Looks, how welcoming it was, all that fun stuff.
