Emmeline sucked in a breath for several seconds that took agonizingly long before they finally stilled; she let out her breath in a whoooosh and tried to see if anything had spilled. She couldn't tell, so she straightened up in her seat and called out, "Hiiiii, Professor Vance!". The professor hadn't noticed the things wiggling, right? Sipping on her tea Professor Vance sat comfortably leaned back in her chair as Emmaline was the first student to enter the classroom and find herself a seat. She watched the bowl and pitcher wobbling on the table but soon after they stilled. Turning her gaze to Emmeline she greeted kindly "Good evening Emmeline, keep an eye on your bowl and pitcher!" Yes she had seen. Quote:

The second student to arrive was Ms Cambridge of the eagles. When their gazes met Professor Vance greeted with a smile "Good evening, Jessa!" She didn't look tired at all. Maybe midnight classes worked better for some? Quote:

Soon after Jessa, Laurel first saw a flash of badger robes before she identified who they belonged to. Smiling over at the heavily yawning prefect she greeted "Good evening Etta, try to keep your eyes open." She didn't want anyone to fall asleep. It'd be troublesome. Quote:

Not that it bothered her, because as she’d sank into the chair at her table, it had really taken more willpower not to fall asleep. It was nighttime after all, which was why she’d greeted the professor the way she had. It was not a snake that entered the classroom next, but another lion. If Stasya greeted her which Laurel assumed she had since she had looked over in her direction then it had been very silent. Gaze turning to Stasya when she had sat down Laurel greeted kindly "Good evening Stasya!" Quote:

Anyway, he made his way to his seat, stubbing his toes on one of the tables on the way (causing the bowl on it to jiggle), and sunk into the chair. Ahh. "Hello, professor." Ronan showed up shortly after Stasya and was that sleepiness that she heard in his voice? Well, it he wouldn't be the last. She heard a bowl jiggle but she didn't hear a crash so Ronan must have stopped it in time. "Good evening Ronan, don't let that bowl break!" She didn't have a hundred extra. Quote:

"Hello Professor, Good evening" She beamed at her head of house, entering the dim-lit room and finding an empty seat. Bowls and pitchers.... scrying? At least that was the slytherin's first thought, as she adjusted her bag and carefully removed her Divination notes. The first snake to arrive was Skylar that seemed to be alert as a night owl upon entering which only gave more weight to her earlier theory about how many would be sleepy of her students and not. Returning her beam Professor Vance greeted "Good evening Skylar!" Quote:

Letting her gaze travel over the students she soon stopped on the little first year eagle that had arrived soundlessly, probably when her attention had been elsewhere. Beaming over at her she greeted "Good evening Maisie!" Quote:

Whether it was his own feet, some loose carpet, a pillow, or something else entirely...it really did not matter because the third year had now face planted into the floor of the classroom. Next minute she was startled out of her seat at the sound and sight of Derfael, falling face flat onto the classroom floor. Springing out of her seat she almost forgot to put down her tea cup before she hurred to Derfael's side. Placing a hand on his back as she leaned down she asked worriedly "Derfael, are you all right? That was a pretty bad fall" Laurel drinks up the last of her steaming green tea and stands up reluctantly from her comfy warm seat to begin the lesson. "Good evening everyone, today we're going to talk about and you're all going to be performing water scrying readings in the light of the full moon."
As Professor Vance spoke the message on the blackboard erased itself to instead write "Full Moon Water Scrying" in big cursive letters. Laurel momentarily paused to move to stand on the other side of the blackboard, resting a hand on the frame. "Before we talk more about the moon and scrying can anyone venture a guess as to what other divination methods are similar to water scrying?" OOC: Class has officially started! Catch up posts are allowed throughout. If you post late then act as if your student has been there the whole time unless you want to potentially loose some house points...Question 1 is simple just give a guess as to what other divination methods your character thinks are similar to water scrying. The lesson will move at approx 7 pm GMT +2 tomorrow night.
