The instructor smiled when she walked out on the pitch and approached him. "Good morning, miss Dimple." Very unaware of her being cold he just sat smiling at her. "Welcome to class." His feet crunched what little snow had collected on the ground as he began to walk closer toward the professor and another girl standing close by. "Morning Professor," He stood off to the side to where he could still see the other students approaching as to not miss who was coming by, just in case they needed partners for something. They were soon joined by another first year. "Good morning to you, mr Dooley. How's your day so far?" Since it was eearly, it could only start off as great with flying being the first class of the day, yes? YES. Text Cut: Oliver Quote:

He sure hoped so. Or he might do some charms to help with the heat. "Hello professor," he greeted when he reached the pitch. It looked like he was early, which was unusual for him. He smiled at the small ones already gathered and waited for more students to arrive and for the class to start. In contrast to Maisie and Patrick, the next one to join them was an older student. And a prefect nonetheless. "Mr. Borzekowski-Thomas, welcome to class, welcome." Haraldur smiled, wrapping his big fur coat closer around him. Text Cut: Sam Quote:

Nothing too intense, since she was sure any activity Baldvinsson had planned would soon warm her up from the inside. She'd be sorely disappointed if they weren't going to be doing something practical - flying lessons had become quite the lovely brain break from her NEWTs classes. That wasn't to say she didn't concentrate; it was just different, and in a good way.
"Hi Professor!" Sam greeted with a grin as she joined the group already forming on the pitch. "How many inches d'ya reckon by the end of class?" Of snow, that was. He certainly could be depended on to hold a lesson regardless of the weather. And then she gave another smile to the young Ravenclaw too. "You warm enough, Maisie?" She could cast a warming spell otherwise. Haraldur looked over Oliver's shoulder at Sam approaching and matched her smile with one of his own. "Good morning, miss Tyler." He gave her a little wave with his glove and glanced up at the sky. "I don't know..." He answered, looking at the snow slowly covering his fur cled shoulders. "But I'll have the pitch clean from every inch of snow after the lesson." Only to have it covered again in the afternoon. Bitter? Nah, only a tad to be honest. Text Cut: Kirk Quote:

"Good day, Professor." Kirk noticed the trunk in place of the usual broom. He pushed the thought aside as he joined whilst acknowledging the others.
It was cool to see familiar faces, excuse the unintentional pun. After inspecting the snow gathering around him, his attention was re-focused and mood lightened at the arrival of another student. "Good morning, mr. Forsfelle, good morning. Great day for flying, yes?" Haraldur mused, wiggling his toes inside his boots to keep them warm. Text Cut: Stasya Quote:

Even if there hadn’t been the disaster that still was her dorm room. She’d worn just enough to stay warm, with an extra layer of heating charms as backup as she’d made her way through the snow to the pitch for the lesson. Besides, it was way easier making her way through the snow without ten million layers, as learned from her many trips to the barns, and it was a relatively cheerful thirteen year old who had stepped into the pitch.
Only to be hit with the curiosity over why Mr. Baldvinsson wasn’t on his broom like he usually was. But, she stuck with her usual greeting, however unusual it was to the other students. “Góđan daginn prófessor Baldvinsson!” Yay for practicing Icelandic, even though she didn’t know when her grandparents might visit so she could really practice more. Or if they already had and she’d missed it because she was at school. She figured they’d want to see her baby brother. Maybe. She didn’t really know what they thought about things. Things she still hadn’t really gotten over, and had been coming back more lately.
Besides, nobody else was there yet that she really knew. So she just went back to trying to figure out why the groundskeeper didn’t have his broom. She didn’t think they could have a Flying lesson without brooms, unless they were using carpets again. Yasssssssssssssss. Haraldur beamed when he heard a chipper voice speak Icelandic. Now, THAT'S the spirit! "Miss Dalgaard-Volkova!" He exclaimed, clapping his gloved hands together. Because excitement. "Góđan daginn, góđan daginn!" He replied, nodding his head several times in encouragement. Text Cut: Skylar Quote:

However, what she did not expect was to see the older professor hovering on a large black trunk instead of his broom. He hadn't said anything about no brooms this lesson, which is why she had hers safely in hand. "Professor Baldvinsson, good morning," she smiled brightly. Haraldur's excitement from Stasya speaking Icelandic spilled over into his greeting of the next student. Which happened to be one of the most skilled flyers. "Good morning, miss Diggory! Ready for some flying today, I hope?" Ready or not, she would be doing some flying. Text Cut: Jessa Quote:

It was funny how when she'd left the castle, she didn't think it terribly cold and therefore didn't think she would be needing a warming charm. Now, walking up to the Professor and her classmates, winded and flushed at the cheeks, the Ravenclaw rethought the idea and set to making it right.
With it becoming a necessity in the last few months, the young girl had thankfully gotten the hang of it non-verbally.....because she'd meant it when she said she wouldn't cast until she could do it non-verbally and had already had to compromise the stance on more than one occasion.
Warming though, that she'd gotten down pat. All the failures and cold walks had steeled her resolve.
Truth be told, once she'd gotten the first two or three spells down non-verbally, the wall didn't seem so tall anymore. It wasn't to say she could now do it all effortlessly, but it was becoming easier to grasp them. "Hello Professor." She greeted, coming to a stop just behind the others. No broom today? "Miss Cambridge, good morning, good morning." He greeted the young Ravenclaw with a smile. "Welcome to class, you're just in time." Haraldur crossed his legs where he was sitting and took a final glance up towards the castle. The happenings around the castle unsettled him and he was m o o d y. Plus, he was forced to use a school broom since his own was… Well, not with him anymore. ”All right, let’s get started, kids.” Haraldur announced, waiting a few seconds for the chatter to settle. ”I know it’s cold, we’ll get to flying a few moments.” He tried to make himself comfortable on the very solid trunk, so unlike his own broom, as he could and let his eyes scan the group in front of him. ”Last year, as you all recall,” Well, everyone except the first years. We still see you though, firsties. We see you. ”We had our friends from Ilvermorny here for the International Magical Pupil Standoff and we’re going to focus a little bit on North America today. Can anyone tell me which wizarding game our American friends enjoy?” They probably enjoyed a lot of games to be fair but it was one in particular the instructor had in mind. ”Does anyone know how it came to be?” He gestured for them to shoot their hands up in the air. ”OR has anyone played it?” Story time please. OOC: Bbs. Which game is Haraldur referring to? Do you know how it was invented? Evurrrrrrr played it? Have a funny anecdote to share with us? DO. Creativity makes the world go ‘round. Or something.
Class will move on in roughly 1.5 days -- 28th of October at 9 am GMT + 2..
